Urm... I'm new here, but not entirely new to drawing on the comp... I dont think my work is good enough to qualify for the intermediate board, but I'm not entirely certain that it'll fit in here either...
I'm just kind of insecure I suppose.

Anywho, the lyrics on the image are from Iris, by the Goo Goo Dolls.
Also where I got the title from, how original eh? ^^;
Comments are welcome.

davincipoppalag (Mar 8, 2004)
Nice colors and lighting...maybe in the background some shapes that suggest stalactites and stalagmites..like shes coming out of a cave...? they can be dark..without alot of extra detailing..and I think would add to the picture and go with your title.. just a thought
Look (Mar 8, 2004)

fleeting_memory (Mar 8, 2004)
um-a glowing coffin? In the bottom left corner I see like this shadow demon reaching toward the handle of the coffin thingy and like a big yellow thingy with eyes coming from the coffin or into the coffin from above-the only thing I can make outa the red and blue lights on the right is those old fasion 3D glasses.....so confused-so is it like a soul being drawn into heaven rather than the evil spirits of hell or something? AH please explain or I'm going with Davinici's theory of road kill big bird
dixielandcutie (Mar 11, 2004)
LOL. fleeting memory. you're hilarious. the old-fashioned 3-d glasses looking things are ambulance lights ;p that help?

lilypad (Mar 11, 2004)

"It's a still life watercolor of a now late afternoon, as the sun shines through the curtain lace and shadows wash the room. And we sit and drink our coffee, couched in our indifference like shells upon a shore you can hear the ocean roar in the dangling conversation, and the superficial sighs, the boarders of our lives. And you read your Emily Dickinson and I my Robert Frost and we note our place with book markers that measure what weve lost...." Simon and Garfunkle

alwaysLearning (Mar 11, 2004)
One of my all-time favourite songs, Axil - and you did it justice. The final version really captures the feelings of "the shadows wash the room", in a way that the earlier versions didn't, leaving the image more disconnected from the song. This brings them back into a connected whole, as a picture and its description should be, IMHO. :) The only flaw is not in the image or its execution, but in the connection between it and the song - because she doesn't look "couched in indifference", but instead intently focused. No insult intended, though -- the piece is gorgeous, regardless.
