Pulmon: There's just not that many processes and tenchiques to mention , and if there is, I don't know how to explain them.. I'm not very good at explaining things like that, but I'll try..... I start off usually with a very rough sketch just to make sure everything will fit and and then block in the base colors, usually the middle between the darkest and lightest that'll be used in the pic. After that it's just an endless play of colors to make it look right (the paint was so hard to make look like actual paint instead of just flat color). With this picture I looked at the photograph and tried to imagine what the car would look like if I was standing there, instead of only using what the picture showed. Pictures are only suggestions of what the subject looks like, they're never perfect or dead on with the color or clarity so enhancing it with your imagination can go a long ways towards making it come to life. Examples would be.. the paint was done more out of my thoughts of how that paint would really look, instead of muddied and dulled down like pictures tend to do. Also the parts of the picture that would normally be blurred from the colors mixing and the shot being too far away and you zooming in on it, like the rims, you can try to separate and make more distinct details as if you were really looking at a chrome rim rather than pixelated blurs. The opacity level I figured out makes really smooth color transitions when it's set very low.. Like 35-39 with a very small brush zoomed way in to thousands of degree.. and also using the Anti-Alias tool for smoother lines... then just a whole lot of time and clicks. Alot of colors are used to create one certain color in any picture, instead of say a flat peach or fleshy color, oranges, greens, purples, blues, a whole array of colors are used to create highlights and shading on skin tones. The low opacity lets you subtly blend those colors you would never think were in skin, with the base color you selected, to make something very real looking. Experimenting is best. Just because you made a dark brown the base color doesn't hamper you to just using lighter shades of brown to build highlights and lowlights. As far as tablet or mouse... a tablet is only something in dreams right now, probably will always stay that way since they're not cheap by any stretch of the imagination.. so I use the handy dandy mouse. The time isn't correct but it did take quite awhile to do.. just not nearly as long as it says each time. Everytime I sat down to work on it I was pulled away to do something else. The reference, as I mentioned, was a photo of one of Chip Foose's cars I thought was incredibly beautiful and it truly is a dream car.
Sorry for the length of this but you asked, so I tried to explain as best as I can. I hope it's of some help to you. I appreciate the inquiries and also all of the supportive compliments you people have posted on this picture.

This is actually the Best picture I have seen on here. Which says something because I'm Zack's brother, which naturally inclines me to like his better. And he is quite good.

I haven't been here so much just because it's frustrating not being able to draw when I see all the wonderful things other people draw. It's literally being so inspired yet having a broken mouse.
