Contest Week 74: Texture! closed for judging In this contest you'll be using the tools available to you to mimic real-life textures and combining them onto unexpected surfaces. Think of it as a contest with a focus on technical skill, but also on originality with what textures you decide to put on what objects. Some examples of unexpected textures would be- A vase with with a texture of water sitting on a table with a texture of leather, or a cloud with a texture of brick above a mount...

Contest Week 74: Ninja vs Pirates Really, who cares about ninja? No one over 12, that's who. Also butt pirates for some odd reason. Yep, he's from Ness' universe, EarthBound. If you guys enjoy gaming (particularly RPGs), you'd really be missing out to have skipped this game for the SNES. One of THE best games out there in my opinion.

I think this is the most realistic drawing/painting I have ever seen. The skin is amazing.

KGH: You need to see more art then. This is a good piece but it's not superior or even that interesting, imo. This is more of a reflection of another artists perspective (the original photographer), opposed to being a true, unique connection with the subject matter. The girl who painted this piece was more of a "spectator" than an artist, at least from what I knew about her. Some people think they can just dabble in anything, come and go as they please but in the end, they'll never truly gain anything from the expereince. True expression takes dedication, understanding and sacrifice, I don't see any of those qualities here.
