Ce'Nedra is a character from one of my favorite series of books. She appears in the Belgariad and the Mallorean, as well as a few supplements to the series. This is for a signature pic for a guild I'm joining on Go-Gaia.com in honor of the author, David Eddings.

Reminds me of princess what's her face from Shrek.

P.S. Gotta love my shitty comments.
HJ (Dec 3, 2003)
Very lovely shading overall! It gives a soft, kind of pastel-y feel..

(The girl from Shrek is named Fiona) (:
furyofroy (Dec 3, 2003)
Her body looks great! And the hair is resplendent.

I'm not sure if that word is real or not, I just heard it on TV.
concannon (Dec 3, 2003)
Yep, real word.

Great hair, and love the little simple background. Great job.

This was a quicky and I did not clean up the line art because my mouse was making me extremely pissed off. This is the first time I have actually completely colored something and I know that I screwed up severely as the mecha looks perfectly flat. I have some time today and I would like to do a decent picture that is actually worthy of the intermediate board so if anyone has some pointers on perspective, coloring, shading, clean line art, or artistic technique in general please tell me.

I felt that I had to do this mecha to redeem myself for an unintentional slight I may have perpetrated ( I really do not know if this is true or not as the artist never actually said he was offended). I shall never again mistake a between-the-legs-cockpit mecha for a headless mecha.

I am currently laying down the base colors and am trying to decide how to shade this. I have never actually attempted to cell-shade before so I hope I do not screw up too badley.

F.Y.I. I did not take my time with the line art because my mouse (the school's mouse actually) was beginning to make me contemplate throwing it thru a wall.
marcello (Nov 24, 2003)
Ya, you should seriously consider some cleaner lineart, it's not hard, you just need to go slowly. Might I also suggest some more colors in the shading, maybe even some speculars.
mikhail (Nov 26, 2003)
it has potential just clean it up and but some nice metallic shading in there
Neko (Dec 2, 2003)
I'm a lover of technology especially mechs and stuff like that and this one's design looks awesome! Wish they'd do something like that.

The center eye looks rather... odd. Is it more like a humaneye or a round cyborg one with a lid on above it?

I'm currently reading "The Sandman, King of Dreams" by Alisa Kwitney, and i saw this picture of a girl..She was really cute, young..pretty.. and everything and it talks about how this man woul dlove her forever.. and how she looked at him like she was going to say something.. Anyway..This is the girl.. They never gave her a name.. The person who owns her is Gary Amaro and Tony Harris..

It's from "Cerements"

"sandman girl"? isnt that death?

i should probably see about reading those sometime soon

also seen in the first versions of this pic.
IDontLookTooGoodInPink (Nov 26, 2003)
No.. Its not death.. its just one of the characters in the book The sandman.. by alisa kwitney.. its a big book of weirdness.. She didnt have a name in the book so i called her the sandman girl because shes from that book..shes not really the she-form of the sandman.. I'mma draw him real soon.
mikhail (Nov 26, 2003)
i like it, looks interesting even tho i dont know nything bout this sandman nonsense
Neko (Dec 2, 2003)
Still looks like The Death. That tattoo under her left eye is a sure giveaway. And Neil Gaiman, the creator of the comic The Sandman has written an introduction to that book "The Sandman, King of Dreams". What is the book about, is it too a comic? Or more like a novel like the newer Sandman-books?

Nice style - Sandman is a great comic, and it's drawn in so many absolutely amazing styles. This doesn't look like any of the styles, but it's still Dream. ^_~
IDontLookTooGoodInPink (Nov 28, 2003)
I just kinda made this style off the last one.. Oo; it's not really in the book..
Neko (Dec 2, 2003)
I've always got the image of Dream as this long, thin and narrow-faced guy. It looks like him, but a rather "bishounen'd" version. Now his face is all smooth and sexy. Looks good, but I've got my image.

Bit of a shame no background or shoulders are drawn... still, it gives it that rather sketchy look. Nice job.

It's creative. I like how one is really punky/gothic and the other is kinda preppy/girly. Cool
furyofroy (Nov 28, 2003)
They both look like they can kick my ass. >_o
Dirty_Cooth (Nov 29, 2003)
wh00t. normal/preppy chick and goth/punk skank.

nice job, pretty creative.

Wow, you have a much better understanding of muscle structure than I do. ;__;
Neko (Dec 2, 2003)
His butt seems to be a bit too up, methinks. Also it looks flat, maybe because his back is too short.

You've done a very good job drawing them muscles and the colouring is good. Wish to see more of these, since I want to draw some muscles, too.

Mi dibujo presenta una naturaleza muerta común, la describo como Viva ya que el colorido que le puse, tiene puros colores alegres y llamativos "vivos".
My drawing presents a common dead nature, I describe it as Alive because the colors that it expresses, are happy and brightning "alive"

milady it is really cool but I think you could really do much better because u have great capacity and creativity, i mean it is really nice but looking at it like our teacher would u could reeaaaally improve it although I really love it =o)
Markmoon (Dec 2, 2003)
I'm still thinkin that impresionism is Alive the use of solid colors to create the objects is very fine i like your stile =D

Great hair. The colors are great fun, too.

Edit: Guess? On Digimon? lol... I have no idea... I don't really watch that show.
Graffiti871 (Dec 1, 2003)

Harmanye (Dec 1, 2003)
Davis, But I can only tell that from the name, I haven't wattched digimon in a long time ^_^

Nice hair BTW, but shading on the shirt would be a plus. STill a cool shirt though.
