I love this and that song. The blood looks really good and I think it really goes with the song.

This picture is absolutely awesome. It hit me kind of hard at first, because I have a friend who cuts herself for some reason... I have no formal learning in composition or whatever, but I guess I'll just say what I can, since I want to give a real comment. ;) I like the contrast of the red and purple with the white of her skin. Especially with the blood. I also like how the bathroom in the background is all in reds and whites, while her hair and eyes are that blue-ish purple. There's a metaphor there somewhere...Don't know if you intended it, but it's itching right at the back of my brain and aching to come out. Anyhow, awesome picture. I really like it.

"blueberries and strawberries taste better with blood"?

this is so sad because I know someone like this. The expression on her face is VERY well done-amazing |

There, Marcello, I finished it. I colored it based on the screen cap of one of my Anime Music Vids.
RabidMalikFanGirl (Feb 9, 2004)
Awesome!!! Kinda looks like one of those cels that you can find... erm... some places... TO EBAY!
strangeoid (Feb 9, 2004)
Great job! Looks like it came straight out of the anime... except for the slight wavy-ness of the shadow line along the nose. Other than that, it ocks my socks right into the other room.

Just an interesting-sounding contest with some pretty nice prizes (wacom tablets, wacom cintiq, and tablet pcs) for design and illustration: Only problem for most of the people here is there is an age restriction of 18+ (snooping around pulled that out from the rules). Worth checking out though...

wow how did u create the paper, looks nice
strangeoid (Dec 21, 2003)
When I first looked at it, I was going to say "it looks like one of Da Vinci's sketches." Then I started reading the description. Hehe. Very impressive. The old-paper texture is muy awesome.
Daymeon_StormRider (Dec 21, 2003)
Oh wow...lovin it. Ever heard of that book written on Da Vinci's Code? I need to find it...seemed like a killer read...anyways...nice job!! **nods**

Well, here it is - my second picture on this site. I now understand something about Lascaux Sketch, and I like the tool, but I'm still baffled by it in places... Still, it's a step, and I think the fishy is cute. It's based, vaguely, on a guppy, but mostly it's just swimming around in my brain. At least it's got plenty of room in there right now... if it can abide the whistling sound of the wind blowing through... <LOL>
alwaysLearning (Feb 10, 2004)
Well, I can't edit this piece (which I just now tried to do in order to reduce the amount of space used), and I don't know what else to do; so... <sighs> ...unless advised otherwise, I'm going to delete it, in order to stop violating the space limit per image. I'm going to give this a couple of hours and see if I get any guidance from a moderator as to what to do, but failing that, the fishy (ack, children's books are taking over my vocabulary) will swim into history on my online sketchbook page. <sigh> I'm really sorry about the space problem, folks. :(Isn't there a way to check the amount of space that the file is taking before you allow the user to save the file, so that we *can't* get into this kind of trouble? I think it told me the size of the .PNG file (though I'm honestly not sure), but not the actual main file, the one that's violating the space limit -- and I always feel really awkward about creating a problem I didn't even know how to check for, much less how to avoid, prevent, remedy, anything. <worried look> Do I just create images and hope blindly that they're within the size limit when I'm done, and delete them if they're not, or is there something I can do to avoid this problem in the future?
marcello (Feb 10, 2004)
I wouldn't worry about it so much, 2draw isn't really about how many mb you're using... we shouldn't be running out any time soon.
alwaysLearning (Feb 10, 2004)
Well then, in that case, I think I'll just mark this piece as finished, since I can't edit it any more. I've set a tight limit on my undo history on Lascaux, and I think I'll try another piece and see if I can avoid these file size problems that way. Thanks!
marcello (Feb 11, 2004)
Actually you probably want to set it much higher... the default is pretty low. Undo size has nothing to do with what's sent to 2draw, that's just how much of your computer's ram is used to store undo information. |

I saw some comments on a drawing wherein Marcello directed to a spot where he explained the file size issue for Lascaux, but I still have a question. Is there a way to check the file size of the current drawing you are working on (in Lascaux) BEFORE any submissions, possibly somewhere on the applet page?

I had a photo obviously... I can't imagine stuff for beans yet. Working on that though... on paper ;)
Look (Feb 4, 2004)
That's so nice. I like the rough coloring, kind of like oil pastel. I think you should add a little lighting to the nose tip. and one of the eye seems a little higher than the otherI'm so glad to have "free" time again! Last week I spent too much time prepping for a dance competition... glad to be back trying to draw.
Ok. *drops it* I lost my ref so I screwed with it... this version is ultimately cos I submitted then immediately thought it needed to be darker....I really can't blend.
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Feb 10, 2004)
I think it's terrific. It's way better than some of the crap I post in the advanced section. |
