No fill tool used here! =) This is my definition aof a cool person, but if you want cool, I made a skater with Tony Hawk Pro Skater 4, and now, she was cool. Aaaaaaanyway, TGgold, I used your advice. I majorly improved in paper and pencil, but computer too. =P

there's a bit of bald skin showing through the left side (our left, her right) of her head. might wanna fix that.

another way to improve is to try drawing as much weird dynamic poses as possible, even if you're not satisfied at first. drawing people looking forward all the time with their shoulders straight and their arms at their side eventually becomes static and repetitive. try odd angles. try everything! it's fun.

roy, she did use layers, for the skin and the background anyway. the hair, eyes, and shirt were on foreground.
furyofroy (Sep 9, 2003)
The layers aren't as complicated as they look. Or are you just too....lazy to use them? *stares* J/k, j/k. ^^ Seriously, here's how I do it. I do a rough layout on layer 0, and do lineart on layer 2. I erase the rough layout, and colorize it in layer 1. Afterwards, I do a background in layer 0, where the rough layout used to be. It comes together real nice. =3 That may have sounded obvious, but....you...weren't using the layers. o__o I didn't know what to do.

cool looks alot like your hand drawings
Gothic_Otaku (edited Sep 10, 2003)
Dear furyofroy,

I WAS USING THE LAYERS!!!!!!

*gasps for breath*

I use the layers quite a lot, mind you. I had to combine them a lot, and in the end made the bg and the girl in two seperate layers. I wanted it to be perfect. =^.^= So I did different features in different layers so If I messed up I wouldn't mess up the rest of the drawing. ^_^ I dunno how you got that I wasn't using the layers. -.- They're my favorite tool.

This is Afro Sukeban. She is mad because she can't get any dates with cute boys. She will now break their kneecaps.
Actually, I just wanted to try out Lascaux and get myself used to it... but I think I'm a ShiPainter guy through and through. I just love the watercolor tool too much.

ponpoko: lascaux has the 'water color' tool as well, it's called "Blend." Watercolor isn't really an accurate description for what it's doing.
ponpoko (Sep 8, 2003)
Actually, I did use the blend tool, but it was somehow... not as subtle as the Shi-Painter watercolor tool. Or maybe I just used the wrong kind of settings. But it was definitely a bit different from what I'm used to. Otherwise, it's a great applet.
marcello (Sep 8, 2003)
To get it like shi-painter, use the blend tool with the smooth airbrush brush type (bottom left one), and turn the flow down to 25% or so. Tweak the flow and opacity until you get it how you like it.

A remix of Leef, http://cellosoft.com/2draw/view/9118/

Better? I think so.
Perfect? Not nearly... Critique me, please, test the limits of my tolerance for you... I mean, C-and\or-C Welcome, of course!

Still getting used to Lascaux;
trying to pull from Shi-painter, because while it is easy to use and has quite nummy features, I also find it rather limiting,
and, dare I say it, lacking.

I love anything that's furry. =3 It looks very realistic, but the fur looks kinda matted, y'know?
Harmanye (Sep 7, 2003)
ah, well you see, she has just taken a bath, o_O, or, something like that. ^^;
Thanks for the comment ^_^

amuy (Sep 7, 2003)
sporks are the greatest for eating frozen ice cream at lunch! (not really..they dont sell spoons) so a spork it is! woooh, nice pic. I like the shading on the jeans! and the background is really dotty, adds a cool touch to the pic!
Maiko (Sep 13, 2003)

Yes. We need the background. We do. Seriously. Here is the pic. We need someone to save that sorry excuse of a background for us. Porcelain's preferred people would've been Alienated, or tappie_chan, but as neither really are around anymore, she asked me to make a post. And so I did. They all seem to be slanting slightly to the left. ^_^ But you're right, we can't.
amuy (Sep 6, 2003)
Oh i like it! the shading is neatos and I love the eyes! Its all gravy!! ;)
Merulotte (Sep 6, 2003)
Of course we can't hold you down. This is all just over the internet, there is nothing physical about it. Again, the shading doesn't seem to go along the contours, and the light source looks like a couple of straight beams going across them... Perhaps you could make a lightsource next time, and make the contours of the face, shadows, and folds of the clothing. It'd really spruce it up.
