I'd try not to use the shape tools, and maybe use a softer tool so it doesn't look so pixelly. You should try copying a picture of any eye and adding whatever extra effects you want to after that, just so you have the basic shape and idea. |

Bass. (Not see until after submitted with background) if you click on the image to see the series of revisions and to leave a comment, the grey at the bottom is the exact same shade as the window that surrounds it. CLICK ME. I couldn't start another image until I got rid of another one. It won't let me delete any so fuck it. This is the closest one to finished.

If you think it's not up to whatever board's qualities, you might wanna steer them in the right direction and actually advise them on how to turn it into intermediate quality work. Any good art professor would be disappointed in anyone who doesn't back their "disliking" of the piece with some constructive criticism. And to diss them too, is kinda pushing the limit if you ask me.

I'd just let them be Gigandas. It's very unlikely you can change the way they act towards a situation like this. Accepting that everyone cannot be kind is the only way to overcome unkind people. Trying to force them to do otherwise will just lead to arguments and unhappiness on both sides.Although Im probably just as bad as Zappo sometimes :o

the shading is a bit weird, like how theres no wrinkles, but the jagged shading on the shirt, and the jagged shading on the arm too.

I like your lineart on this...but I kind of agree with hideyourface. The shading on the dog is good because it implies the texture of the dog's fur. However, unless the human's skin is as textured as the dog's fur, I suggest that you fix the shading on the girl just a tad. But, the overall BG and pic is great!! Sorry for sounding like that....art teacher says stuff like that all the time to me because sometimes you see strokes when I shade. Just trying to help a fellow artist out.

She looks more elvish then fairy-like. And yah, shading shouldn't matter that much. Iterpret it how you like, but it's really the artists decision. She created it! :D Anyways, great drawing, yes very minty ;)*sigh* think i let this picture and some of the comments get to me too much...to be honest it made me completly go off drawing...i havent done a thing "arty" in 2 or so weeks which isnt like me..i..liked this picture when i 1st posted it but now i cant stand to look at it anymore...think i'll just set it as finished and leave well alone....guess i gotta dig up some confidence from somewhere before i draw something again lol..(something ive always lacked) grr...

ahh... the grudge still haunts me at night. :gonk: i'm such a total and complete wimp when it comes to scary movies... yet i'm strangely excited about playing doom 3 (finally bought it) and i want to see the japanese grudge. o_o;; i like being scared... yet don't at the same time. XD
