Does JPEG not like the color red? 'Cause whenever I have a picture that has red in it and it gets converted into JPEG, the color gets all ...icky...and ... messy....

planned to finish this but am running out of time. as for the name Little Lizzie? dunno, felt like it suitedfinally... but not exactly the way I wanted. anyway, I had wanted to put her hand somewhere within the frame too but then I had no reference as to roughly which position her hands would be at (didn't want to get some strange pose up there heh). since I still need quite a lot of practice with backgrounds, this is just some thingasomething whatever it is...

She looks good. I think the hair is the best part since it has both highlights and shadows but also actual direction with the way it flows (where it's pulled back toward the ribbon). The red on the cheeks may be a bit too bright and the shines on them too shiny though.

redpanda >> actually i was trying the "shine on red spots on cheek" thing(if you get what I mean...). I normally don't do that, but I thought I could give it a try. turns out that i would need more practice on that!! I think I could do better with the hair, I don't quite like the area above the fringe (that sort-of empty space in the middle), and I could never make out the direction of hair in that part of the head. ooopsie.....thanks for the comments! I think the drawing looks good, but yeah I wish there were at least a few sharper lines with harder edges. My eyes keep thinking its them that are out of focus and not the drawing so that's making them strain enough to be uncomfortable.

The grass looks cool, like it was painted there with real paint. She looks like she's actually running too and not just floating there, partly because of the angles of the grass.

Maybe the linework a bit, but still the feeling of movement and running is there. The name in the corner is a little distracting though.got rid of "shinobu" in the corner

When was the last time you feel like you actually improved in your art noticeably? Whether it was over a period of weeks or months or if one day you woke up and found yourself looking at a breakthrough, what was that improvement and how did it make you feel? I feel like I've been improving a lot over the past couple months since I joined this site (mostly since I've actually been making art more often and have been more motivated) and just recently I've been improving in certain techniques ...

Hmm... didn't turn out as real as I wanted it. There are now Mice, Rabbits and Dogs which have been created with the fluorescent jellyfish gene in their own genes. :O
