It's a nice setup with how you've postioned the characters, but personally I think you have a more practice to do before you will have "mastered the basic skills of drawing" as this intermediate board description says. I'll give you a few pointers that may help, a lot of people do some of the things I'm seeing you do here- it looks like you've tried to draw the hands the way hands look, since you've added lines of fingers and such, but a common mistake is to make hands disproportionately small. Hands should really be almost as long as the distance from a person's chin to their hairline when the hand is held flat, and making a fist with them wouldn't make them as small as what you've drawn. Another thing is that some of the shading is smooth but some of it is rough and I don't think the two styles are really looking like the fit together here. The same goes for the lines, some are smooth but many are very rough. Try to be consistant with one style or another, and if you purposefully make them rough then you're going to have to do it in a way that it looks like you meant it to be like that, not just because you weren't able to make it smooth. A way that would make it look purposeful was if the picture had a mood or emotion in it that needed rough lines, like anxiety or panic.

I looked back on your previous version of this picture, and you do seem to do linework well. You'll probably want to work on coloring/shading and backgrounds, though. Though Redpanda gave a lot of good advice already it seems. ^^

White fox demon angel? That's quite a mouthful, not to mention an oxymoron. Anyways, I know it isn't finish, but I was thinking that maybe you should consider using smaller "spikes" for the hair, since hair doesn't really clump together into such large spikes like that. This sort of has an Egyptian look to it. Maybe you could push that a little more by using some Egyptian references? Just a thought.

The hands are extremely small. Red, I think the drawer is going for some sort of 'anime' approach, so the hair is spiky. I'd like to see the parents of this creature.An albino fox mates with a demon, who was so nice he became an angel. Dah. :D |

This is an old fox character of mine. I'm very interested in iconic styles of art.There probably won't be many people interested in this next part, but just so you know I'll say it anyways. During character design and developement I kept slowly changing parts of her personality, name, apperance, etc., until she became my character Rin, probably my most used character in art/games. Since the end result of Rin is different enough from the original design I was able to remake Reiko as a seperate character on her own, and since she was the predecessor to Rin I just call Reiko her mom.

A few of my characters, mostly just reiko and rin actually, have humaniod forms and how they switch I was going to explain with another drawing at least a month ago but I got tired of the drawing and deleted it before ever taking its status out of being hidden. I'm going to make it again though at some point.

Haven't done one of these in a while.A new design of mine, showing stronger Japanese influence. I'm planning to make a poster-size image featuring this bot (not necessarily at this angle) in Photoshop. Not sure whether to put arms or guns on or just leave the shoulders as they are. C&C appreciated. edit: Done with this picture. I'll probably do more sketches like this of this bot. |
