This cuaght my eye immediately. I'm very suprized i've never seen it before now.
Definely an eye cetching picture.
KGH (Feb 20, 2008)
I think this is the most realistic drawing/painting I have ever seen. The skin is amazing.
Kloxboy (Feb 20, 2008)
KGH: You need to see more art then. This is a good piece but it's not superior or even that interesting, imo. This is more of a reflection of another artists perspective (the original photographer), opposed to being a true, unique connection with the subject matter. The girl who painted this piece was more of a "spectator" than an artist, at least from what I knew about her. Some people think they can just dabble in anything, come and go as they please but in the end, they'll never truly gain anything from the expereince. True expression takes dedication, understanding and sacrifice, I don't see any of those qualities here.

Haha, holy crap that link is amazing....I think Zack's just jealous by saying that thing about the printer :P. I have to admit myself, I'm kinda jealous now. Someone who could do work like that isn't 'just' skilled, they have a God-like eye for detail that can pick up not only the forms and alignment, but just what colors to use to give it that real sense of 'life,' which just blows me away.
Zack (Dec 6, 2005)
I'm not envious. the man has obviously spent a great deal of time investing in a skill that doesn't impress me much. time that could have been spent playing video games.
staci (Dec 7, 2005)
agreed. why would you want to (for example) pay someone to do a portrait of you that looks EXACTLY like a photo. you have the photo..it just doesnt make sense. i guess it would be cool if the subjects were original and he made them look photo realistic, but meh. my opinion.
Gigandas (Dec 7, 2005)
Well, to me, it's not so much a matter of paying him to do a portrait for me, but rather the fact he's perfected his realism to that level is amazing. Most people attempt realism and end up with something that doesn't look exactly photorealistic because they don't have the overall 'skills' to master it as this guy has. I dunno, I still think it's good to have that ability up your sleeve anyway for an artist. It's one of the basics you study in art anyway. If you think about it, it's not all about the realism either. You don't learn realism just to do realism. It's stuff like learning to pick up on forms and colors that actually help you as an artist in the future when say, you work from references or just getting a general idea of shapes of things so that you don't really even need a reference to draw something well (like if you were drawing a robot and wanted to make him metallic, and you know how the texture might look).

She looks so nice. It doesn't even matter what her costume is. Very sexy, Laurael.

Ooooooooh! Teach me to do flesh tones! I suck at them. This is awesome! I can't ever remember to enter a contest on time.

Yeah..This is, like, my 3rd..or..4th..or 5th drawing of him..something like that.

What do you guys mean by 'flat?' I thought most cartoons were that way...
hideyourface (Nov 29, 2005)
the torso has hardly any shading. With the more detailed anime like this is suppoised to be, the artists shade more so you can see the shape better.
kristine (Nov 29, 2005)
you would, like, rape this guy up the butt wouldnt you? :P well, i suppose this is better than your others.

Nice finish :)! I think my favorite part here is how it almost looks like the heart there is going to start spinning, floating over hands...good stuff :D.
fleeting_memory (Nov 29, 2005)
yay Niel! Thank you :) it is supposed to be about to spin, you made me happy saying that! *grins*

And I can't call in sick on Mondays
when the weekends been too strong
I just work straight through the holidays
And sometimes all night long
You can bet that I stand ready when the wolf growls at the door
Hey, I'm solid, hey I'm steady, hey, I'm true down to the core
And I will always do my duty no matter what the price
I've counted up the cost, I know the sacrifice
Oh, and I don't want to die for you
but if dyin's asked of me
I'll bear that cross with honor
'cause freedom don't come free

I'm an American soldier, an American
beside my brothers and my sisters I will proudly take a stand
When Liberty's in jeopardy, I will always do what's right
I'm out here on the front line
Sleep'in in peace at night
American soldier, I'm an American soldier

Hide I agree with your views on war.
War is wrong, war is bad, war is unnecessary unless made necessary by ignorance.
I just feel you and most people are extremely misinformed about this war, why it took place, and that 9/11 wasn't the soul reason we went to war. 9/11 was just the straw that broke the camels back.
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Nov 29, 2005)
To quote a higher power : Ecclesiastes 3:8
A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.

Matthew 24:6 (King James Version)

And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.

AND, if I were queen, I'd have made toast out of all of them long ago, it'd be over with, and God could sort them out. But alas, .... I am not queen. :(

BlitzCloud (Nov 29, 2005)
terrorism is something you can't let win. I mean, its based on forcing and destring people rights. If nobody efend their rights there, we have to do something!

she's pulling him out of his shell. Cool. The bottom of the shell looks cool but the top looks like it could use some more texture or something. I like the black background but your people are still kind of blurry. Good job, you are improving :)
Gigge (Nov 28, 2005)
You spent alot of time on this and it turned out nicely. I didn't see the shell coming. I assumed from the oval shape he'd be coming out of a pond or some similar body of water.
davincipoppalag (Nov 28, 2005)
I like what you did with this. The shell was a good idea.

marcello (edited Nov 27, 2005)
So, who would be interested in a 2draw-con? It'd probably be here in New Mexico, maybe sometime in the Spring. If there is interest of course. Probably raffles, contests, and just general hanging out. Probably plenty of cool free and secret shit that you'd have to come to get. Who knows. 2draw merch maybe? Just throwing the idea out there, post your thoughts. p.s. probably the biggest issue is location and "getting there." feel free to post your thoughts on that, as well. p.p.s. ...

Feel the love. This is actually almost exactly what one of my old turkey's looks like except that I traced my hand on the screen. Gotta love Kindergarten. I have found it almost impossible to make a hand turkey look dignified.

I wanted to share my childhood with you. A childhood of that oddly yellowy contruction paper.

Ahaha! I remember doing these too :) (good memories). I dunno if mine was quite skillful as this though. I used to REALLY (and I mean 'really') miss the concept of coloring within the lines :P. This is pretty cute lookin. Happy Thanksgiving to ya :)!
