Consequential_Biopsy (Mar 9, 2004)
Not much more to say than 'bloody fantastic'. The composition and simplicty of the pic are great, and you are getting damn good at drawing these faces!
mazi (Mar 9, 2004)
awesome, looks like an uber old portait, esp with the offwhite bg. love the expression.
two-na (Mar 14, 2004)

Consequential_Biopsy (edited Mar 1, 2004)
Heh, everything is very..*ahem*..VERY! nice, I love the shimmery effect, and all the proportions are great. Lovely ass. Lol, yes, the fingers look like bits of plasticine, but, they aren't too noticeable really...have I mentioned the ass? Great ass. Aaaaaa. One thing I haven't yet worked out (and this is me being pedantic), where is the light coming from? Mmmm, ass.Okay...tried to smooth out the shading more, but can't do much more to the face without maybe reaching the limit before I can finish...
davincipoppalag (Mar 2, 2004)
I think its well done laurael..and CB the light is coming from two sources ..both of us have flashlights...
laurael (Mar 24, 2004)
Thanks all. *laughing at the flashlight comment* |

just a mess around, you know just to start, with this program, i;ve never used it before and well, i liked it, this isnt that good but i like how somethings turned out, please, feedback is welcome.
Consequential_Biopsy (Mar 21, 2004)
Okay, good first attempt. With faces, the shadows dont just start at the outside as dark, then get lighter as you move around as a sphere does. Look at some reference pics to get an idea for where different shadows go to define the nose, jaw and chin bones, and folds in the skin that everyone has. The lack of actual defnition of these things makes the face look a little flat. The opacity tool is very handy, if you look in the bottom right you can see 2 sliders, one of which controls opacity. the max is 255, which is pure opaque. Turn it down a bit and it will make it more transparent. Going over it again makes it slightly darker. Very effective and easy way of building up tone. I like the position she is in, and the proportions look about right. Maybe change the chin so it isnt so slanted? Get some pics of women's heads from different angles, and look at how the face is built up, this will help a lot! And also, the blend tool with opacity will be good. Hope I've been of some help! |

last one of these..
staci (Mar 12, 2004)
like..faye and warren? or the real ones?
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Mar 12, 2004)
Well, the real ones are kinda ugly... but it doesn't matter... as long as you do it black and white (or green and white, or sepia) and they have the car and the guns! :) I thought about doing them.. but I'd need a reference pic because I can't remember what they look like (the real ones or the actors) Anyway, yours would probably turn out better than mine would.... these movie headshot things you did were great!
ambermac (edited Mar 18, 2004)
great! nice smooth airbrushing.
LovelyLori (Mar 18, 2004)
I love all of these too... I think you should do Lucille Ball... or the Wizard of Oz characters... hehe |

from a pic in a local mag...i'd really like opinions and suggestions. thanks, ok ive done a bit of revision, added a few bg details, and a bit of gore( very mild...my mother may look at this lol) cant seem to make the bloody handprint look "wet" enough without making it look plastic-ey and fake, any ideas? oh and thanks for the compliments :o)
Harmanye (Mar 2, 2004)
This is wonderful! Glass is so hard to draw, because very clean glass can be more like a play of light (like wateR) than an actualy object, when drawing, even with refereance, this is a fantastic job!
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Mar 3, 2004)
You did a great job on the glass - doing any glass at all for me is a nightmare! This is wonderful.
frappa (Mar 10, 2004)
really amazing glass!!
alwaysLearning (Mar 14, 2004)
Eep! If you're posting on the beginner boards, maybe I should just take my tools and shuffle off... <sigh> No, seriously, this is stunning, and I wish I knew how you had mastered drawing glass so believably. <smile> The background is wonderful, though the one thing that seems to detract from it slightly is the lace(?) runner on the chest of drawers - it seems to be done in a different style from the rest of the piece. Regardless, the piece is gorgeous, and makes me glad I decided to browse your user board -- I'm really enjoying seeing more of your work. |

... the title explains it all. ummmm...???
drworm (Mar 3, 2004)
Niiiiice... the horn looks a little thick for the size of the head, and in some places I'm having problems seeing details of the unicorn, as it blends into the background a bit. On the other hand, my monitor tends to darken things marginally, so this may be all in my imagination. Whatever my problem is, this is a very sweet drawing.
davincipoppalag (Mar 3, 2004)
lovely picture.. the colors work well ..its mystical..
15grifficorntears (Mar 13, 2004)
hey thats a great black unicorn. i love his red eye. the moon is fine. |
