That background is wack-a-doodle. Maybe all it needs is to be toned down a bit, make it more subtle, softer.

I'm curious how you'd draw Utaru in this style, since he was always called ugly and anime (especially of the 70's) doen't exactly show those imperfections.

-practicing mostly anatomy here, like the angle of the face (crits welcome)

-mods feel free to move this to the appropriate board if you dont think this is advanced quality. this will be my first image in this board, so im not too confident :/
yeah, i basically shose this board so i could have a wider canvas for the wings, and even then they didnt fit quite how i would have liked to. but that would have been ridiculously wide, so i made due with what i had. :)

this is really striking. i love the way you did the wings because when you look at them closely it's pretty simplistic (as far as i can tell) but the effect is gorgeous. colors are great too, especially the light on her hair.

well axil thanks for pointing that out after i mentioned in my description already (if you read it that is.) that i knew it wasnt 'advanced quality.'
i needed to canvas space.

so if you would like to take care of making sure it gets moved to the appropriate board then you go do that if it'll make you happy..

Aiee, I haven't drawn anything decent here in so long! And I can't really blame it on being busy, since I really haven't been doing anything.
But I'll draw here more often now, hopefully~ I've been practicing with different coloring techniques lately. I hope it shows. I'm sorry about the screwy anatomy ' __ '; (especially the legs)
