looks like you are doing good so far with the fur. I have just been learning on here and I use lascaux but I'd bet you can do it in the other. I just lower the opacity and use a smaller brush to do the lines and it looks like you have the right idea with the nose and between the eyes.
I can already see where this is going, so I'll say "wow" now, and then I"ll say one less wow when you're finished. (I still want to do one of these, here, but since I'll feel compelled to paint every stupid little hair singularly I'm not sure I have enough lives left to do it.)
Oh, wow. This is absolutely beautiful! The fur looks so soft and fluffy! You are such an amazing artist, you really should be on the advanced board.! :)
The ear part doesn't look quite finished? The rest of the fur is so detailed and good, and that part around the inner rim of the ear seems less detailed. It's probably just me. It's a fabulous drawing!
In my opinion, I think each piece is nice in their own way. I don't really like to say that one is necessarily better than another between pieces. There's just variety...
Cause come to think of it, pix's tiger was done all in solids I think, so it was more of a stylized tiger with edgy gradations, but it still worked. This tiger is more realistic in that it has smoother transitions and just an overall softness and a peaceful look on his/her face which work pretty well if you ask me. Both pieces have my respect...
I was saying earlier that Pix's tiger did not demolish this one. Both styles are very pleasing to look at and done very well...but for me, personally, I do like this one a bit more.
What everyone else said (SHOWCASE!!!) plus the thing about this that I find particularly thrilling is the colours you've used. They are Tiger Perfection. The way you've allowed the black hairs to show through the white is so beautiful. The texture on the nose is just so darned Cat. Very, very fine work.
DoOp gave you the clap? I hear they have medicine for that now
and on comparing the two tiger pics, I agree that it's not fair to compare such two different styles. Kristine got the realism 100% in this pic, where Pix's doesn't have much realism and goes more on a different style. And as for no showcase? I'm P.O.ed! hehe It deserves to be there, but then again, that's also one person's opinion on what they deem good and not so good, which blows sometimes, ya know?
OMG..this was well worth the wait to see it finished!..Its Gorgeous..just such a beautiful draw of a beautiful creature. I don't really know how Showcase works..but I would say this piece is deffinately worthy of being just that 'Showcase' :D
If you really want to see a picture showcased, you can try sending a memo to one or two of the moderators with your suggestion. That won't guarantee that it'll be showcased, but at least that way you might get a response that explains why the moderators don't feel a picture should be showcased. I have a few particular reasons for not showcasing this picture, but I do appreciate the time, effort and skill that went into making it.
i would agree with zack. i dont find this picture showcasable because i didnt use enough detail in the strands of fur among other things. i do appreciate the comments though. :)
I wont add anything more saying how good this picture is, because i would crap my message. Basically two words: deserves showcase. There are some errors, yep; but still its her best piece so far. Its not like, this should be showcase because she spent alot of time... If you dont see the magnificent expression of a calmed tiger, like a peacefull guardian, i pity you. I think this kind of drawings shouldnt be in an (almost) hidden user folder, it would be nice to come to the frontpage and see her drawing there, at the left.
a piece's presence (or lack thereof) in a showcase does not change the quality or beauty of it; nor does it affect the ability of admirers to appreciate it. quit worrying about silly status symbols and enjoy it. if anything, filling the comments below it with whines about why it is or isn't showcased is the only weakening factor here.

Awesome work!
I've been waiting for this one to be finished, and it looks pretty. :D
This needs a showcase.
It looks so soft! I wanna pet it D:>
