for skin tones you can use the ShadeOff tool in PaintBBS to blend it the way you want (if working with watercolor tool doesn't create smooth enough tools for you)... Did the colors themselves come directly from the photo reference or did you eyeball em? X3

Ya the blur tool helps on the shading, but just a tad, a lot of it is layers and layers of color grabbed with right click off combinations...
The colors are um...sorta from the reference, but due to the nature of the photo, I couldn't really grab useful colors (every other pixel was completely different), and I was too lazy to open photoshop and use the area grab hehe. Anyway overall the color of the clothes is off, and the skin is more tan in my pic, heck maybe the hair too... I didn't match the colors very well, but I still like 'em.

It's wonderful. you did a magnificent job with here form, and her legs/hips especially. I think here hair is a little bit 'wiggish'. it doesn't look unreal, but it looks like she's wearing someone else's scalp :D

I'm sorry but why is this in the Showcase ? I've been lurking here for several months and seen several works which surpass this one. Its good, but nothing spectacular.

Too many details are obscured by the blurriness. Her hair is unrealistic and does not look like it has any weight or flexibility to it, her facial features are out of proportion, and the composition is dull, perhaps something in the background would have improved it somewhat.

were those several works done in paintbbs in 2002? standards on 2draw are constantly rising. when this was added to the showcase, those pictures didn't exist. hell, those applets didn't exist, and I'm guessing those artists hadn't even found the site.
the showcase has to be looked at in context of time, we don't remove things from showcase.

but you're right, this picture is crap, and I'm not sure why it was added.

it is very lovely, but i was wondering,do most of the showcase wind up as female pix?the tiger was different, yes.maybe that's what lotsa younger artists draw a lot, lots of anatomy. i forgot, we did do that a lot. " figures, figures,nudes," and when you get outa school, you get a job at kinkos, running machines.tsk tsk.
