Yeah um....I have this obsession with dragons so I made onde up. And I'm not done yet I need to do bg oh and yake about an hour off of that timer cause I was goofin off for a while.edit> I only did a little bit more editing becauser the black stuff was bugging me, and I'm getting in trouble for being on the computer too long, or is it late...anyway that's all I could do for now. edit>I only did a little and I need to draw the bg but lescaux won't let me draw on the second pic. I will try again. edit>hehehe I also have a storm obsession, and I wonder if anyone thinks I should change the green lightning to purple. Anyone think so? or do you people like the green? and try thinking of the dragon's roar, it is fun. |

i still don't quite get lascaux...edit: layers don't save and i am an idiot. yep. (jots down)
mazi (edited Aug 9, 2003)
yep i did the same thing.. but as marcello, oh wise one showed me, you can do lineart then switch it to multiply (i think) and then put the color in under.. and your safe.once you have lascaux, you never go back..
Turtlebuster (edited Aug 9, 2003)
I go back all the time, mazi. I like lascaux for it's unusual texture abilities, but Paintbbs is still my favorite when it comes to soft shading. Layers are easy, btw. Just use lots of them (in Lascaux you can even change the layer order by dragging a specific layer above or below another one) and when you start to get used to them, use less.
marcello (edited Aug 9, 2003)
you can change layer order in oekakibbs as well. In paintbbs, there's not much reason, heh. You can move stuff from one layer to the other, but not switch both at the same time.turtlebuster: I'm assuming you're fully familiar with the difference between opacity and flow in lascaux? flow acts like paintbbs' (A)lpha, and opacity acts like photoshop's opacity. Actually, they added flow in photoshop 7, so it acts like that too, I suppose. :-) Anyway, the only reason paintbbs may be different is there's a glitch in the color mixing code which causes the 'water color' tool to create some strange, almost dodge/burn style blending effects. This is fixed in Shi-Painter, the new paintbbs, which is already coded into 2draw2 (and is very neat, I might add). In fact, as far as basic brush tools, shi-painter is probably superior to lascaux, at the moment anyway. For example, its pen tool (equivalent of lascaux's anti-alias) works great even with really slow (mouse moving) and small detail lines. Something I have yet to figure out for lascaux, but will, eventually, hopefully... (please help!) 2draw2 will save layers on all boards, not just select. The only reason they're not supported now is because they take up space that's not recorded for the total image size.

Ode to Shark Week, shall we say :)I might add more later, we'll see.. edit: as per Marcello's request, I tried to make it look a little more glowy, but I might have to add more later again; I'm picky like that :P edit: just a sig. Thought I should start adding that to my pics
Deino (Oct 19, 2005)
Amazing effects, very beautiful.

A humble, quite unfinished Cock, of the Pea caliber! (not dirty)edit: jpg is the devil in a horrendously unflattering dress... also.. certain evil... we'll call them 'sheep' unintentionally made this 2nd edit take a lot longer than God would deem possible.
mikemmaan17 (edited Aug 9, 2003)
i will have to agree with Marienkind....... that IS a sexy cock!
marcello (edited Aug 9, 2003)
the jpg looks exactly the same as the png
Turtlebuster (edited Aug 9, 2003)
I saved it as a png when i took a screenshot of the canvas, and it looks a LOT less garbled. I can see all sorts of odd little grey marks in green areas that i haven't even got to detailing yet, and the entire image looks slightly blurred in jpg.
Yuki-Kage (edited Aug 10, 2003)
wow...o.O that looks....really really real.. sexy cock...lol |

this HAS to be my most careful drawing yet! i tryed so hard and i feel it turned out pretty good!!! jack sparrow is DA BOMB! l]:-)~ jack sparrow to left
Turtlebuster (edited Aug 9, 2003)
well it looks a lot like him, but you've only spent half an hour on this... if you were trying to be very detailed and accurate, it would probably take almost double that time, at the least. do you use layers to help your lineart? if not, simply draw the outline, set the layer with that outline to abou 40-50% transparency, then make a new layer above that and begin going back over the lines. You can do this as many times as you want to slowly root out inconsistencies in the lines, then delete all but the last layer of lineart and begin to color on a layer below the lineart... Keep in mind that realism doesn't involve line art in the slightest.

Yes! This is how Vance should look like....I've been trying forever to come up with a permantent look for him. *pS. as a side note I'd like to appologize, I don't do pin-up artwork. ^^
digital-nut (edited Aug 10, 2003)
*Imagines alienated's pictures* Hmmmm *joins in with the shifty eyes*Naked would be alot nicer :D I see him with dark blond or light brown hair.
Yuki-Kage (edited Aug 10, 2003)
I imagine him with brown hair too, but whatever color you make his hair, he's still way sexier than any guy I've ever seen...Well with the exception of Johnny Depp and Heath Ledger... *drools*

How I feel.
Turtlebuster (edited Aug 9, 2003)
It's totally up to you if you want to be dark and brooding. Life will really suck for you, if you let it, but if that's what you want, that's what you want. you can always use a tool to make globes -- you don't have to freehand it. |

You probably can't tell who this is yet, because it's not finished (and sadly, some of you might not even know who he is). If you can guess before i'm finished... I'll respect you more as a person. :PLAST EDIT: not that anyone is ever going to see this, but i lied. i said i wouldn't submit another edit, but i did. HAH
Turtlebuster (edited Aug 9, 2003)
Well, since you made that guess on the first submission, i can't be too harsh... although... you knoe ol' jimi was black... right? This guy more or less made hendrix famous, and is still around... a lot.EDIT: congratulations, marcello...clapton is the essence of 'cool'. Just look at that jacket! 'crapton' isn't cool... he's an amazing artist.
Knockoff (edited Aug 11, 2003)

just lineart.. i bet those stairs'll be a biznatch to color and i still need to fix some linessafety save [ok ow my hand.. trying out the no blending tool style.. and now that its 4am and im gunna get like no sleep tonight im going now.. and i forgot to color his cigarette/the smoke from it but i shall fix it later
Turtlebuster (edited Aug 9, 2003)
I liked his shoes better in the first edit. they looked like sketchers (which i actually hate)... but anything's better than TENNIS shoes... So anyway, you like bald people, or what? Also, for coloring the stairs in Lascaux, I think it would look fantastic if you used a 5x5 (ish) brush on 150 opacity and 'blend' and simply went over it and over it with only slightly varing the color on your brush. Then go back over it again with a lighter color for the tops of the steps or top center of the steps. EDIT: wow... you really went all out.. did you actually select a different gradient and use a line to make each tiny segment of those steps??
mazi (edited Aug 9, 2003)
uh huh.. and its all your fault i was up at 4am with my face 2 inches from the screen trying to make that look good. hah it was fun times though i might do some more like that..
Turtlebuster (edited Aug 9, 2003)
well mazi, you know that's not what i meant about the gradients... i think you know, but i meant that you could make use of the blend tool to get a nice variety of shades on the stairs wihout actually using more than a few colors on the brush itself. i like the pants a lot, by the way.
Xodiak (edited Aug 9, 2003)
Awesome colouring and lineart! You draw very beautiful and still improve every time. Bravo Mazi! >:D|XOD| |
