Still unfinnished, but yay for computer problems, I gotta stop for now.

Well... this one's not really finnished, but I'm done with it. Tired of working on it. I was hoping for a more finnished product.

Gah. How do I fix wobbley lines?
Sweetcell (May 20, 2006)
Liking this, hope you do finish it Wf.

You mean the sketchy look of the outlines? Are you using Anti Alias, that smoothes lines overall, and erasure on low opacity gives you more control when you erase. I also use the line and bezier tools for some of the curves, that's what they're there for. And when you ink try a less intence dark, low to med opacity, that helps too. Hope that answers your question.

Finish this.

I'll work on it more. Thanks for the comment.

Did it so much as a kid we used up a lot of sleds, and those blue things that look like garbage lids that I can't remember the name of, and those plastic sleds.... ahhh good times, when you didn't mind the snow and cold.

Oh the rosey cheecks, can't forget the rosey cheecks. :)
davincipoppalag (May 20, 2006)
Yes, another good one. We had a hood from an old pickup that we used as a toboggan , too.
DeadlyBlondeArcher (May 21, 2006)
We only had snow a couple of times, but it floods a lot in southeast Texas, and when our yard would fill completely up with water, my brothers and I would make "skimboards" out of plywood - run, jump, and surf on them. It was a blast. I always wondered what sledding of any kind would be like, it looks like so much fun.

I love to go sliding down Garbage Hill on a garbage bag in the winter.
Or "surfing" down hills on crazy carpets.

Thanks to the two talented people who were nice enough to comment and give me advice on my first oekaki.

Sort of an idea drawing for a pic I think I will expand on and color in photoshop.

I don't know how you oekaki artists do it.

This is really good. I like the way it actually looks like he's partially submerged underwater.
Sweetcell (May 20, 2006)
Oh this is well done. Like xiau said you have the effect of him partially submerged well rendered. But he looks so sad, I think he needs a friend.

One thing, and I don't mean to be mean here, but his forearm would be seen. The way it is now he has a very long upper arm. Look in a mirror and bend your arm like his, you'll see that his forearm would start just at the corner of the canvas. We'd see a lot of his inner forearm as it connects to his hand. Hope that makes sense and that you take it as advice. As well just round out his chin, unless it's supposed to be pointy than disregard.

Do more.
space_submerger (May 21, 2006)
Xiau: thanks :) you have a lovely gallery

Sweetcell: " "

Thanks for the crit, I understand what you're saying. I sort of had a hard time seeing how the hand should so up. I'll do better in the future :) thanks.

Lord of the Rings: What really happened that night in Bree at the Pracing Pony Inn. You all remember this scene, don't you? :P

This is an answer to Arwen's question when she states to Aragorn: "There are five wraiths trailing you, where the other four are, I do not know."

D: I'm jealous of your awesome skills. The bird is so cute. <3 You did a great job already.
kristine (edited May 20, 2006)
You should try Shi-painter. It's kinda like paintbbs...but better :) i really like this.
Sweetcell (May 20, 2006)
Space Submerger when you bring up the canvas to draw look at the bottom left of the window. There's a + on the corner. On the right is a -. That's zoom in and zoom out. Hope that helps. This is very good for paint bbs, oh and welcome.

A picture from 2draw,Emily.No dip it looks like that picture,I know that at this point in time.
Sweetcell (May 20, 2006)
Here's a tip for line art, use a thick pen, on med or higher opacity, try to be as smooth as possible when you trace the sketch (on a different layer) then using the smooth erasure erase the thick lines to get the outline you like. You might have to expiriment but after a while it gets easier. Then on yet another layer you can color it without losing the integrity of the draw.

It's a good start, hope to see you do more.
Akechi456 (May 21, 2006)
Zomg~Thank yoouu~ I can color my picture now.xD I'm sucha tard.Layers hate meh.>_>

Wow, forget my draw, this one rocks..... well, lots of people suffered from that war, sad, but good representation.
davincipoppalag (May 19, 2006)
Great drawing , as usual.
Kraisa (May 20, 2006)
yeah so I hate you...in the good way one artist hates another one cause you are better. You really should make money doing this. I know durring school we read things like "All Quiet on the Western Front" and while I liked it...so many of the other students would have if it had your art to go with it.
Mad_Cow_Disease (May 24, 2006)
wow, i really like this, looks very good. reminds me of Otomo's work in both Steamboy and Metropolis.

Drinkin' again.
Thinking of when you loved me.
Having a few.
Wishing that you were here.

Making the rounds.
Buying a round for strangers.
Just being a fool,
'cause I keep hoping, hoping you'll appear.

Sure I can borrow a smoke.
and maybe tell some joker a joke,
but who is gonna laugh, who is gonna laugh
oh, at my broken heart?

And I'm drinking again.
Thinking of when you loved me.
And I'm tryin' to get home
with nothing, nothing but a memory.

Yes, I'm dying to get home,
dying to get home.
And I got nothin' but a bottle of beer,
and just my memory.

Well it took a little time
But I guess you finally learned
That promises get broken
And bridges do get burned
You've been siftin' through the ashes
Just tryin' to find a flame
Holdin' on to nothin'
You're a victim of the game

You were standin' way too close
To see it all fall apart
And there were things you couldn't hear
'Cause you were listenin' with your heart
But you can't say I didn't warn you
Now there's no one else to blame
There's no one quite as blind
As a victim of the game

And it don't matter who you are
It treats everyone the same
All you need's a heart
To be a victim of the game

Oh you know when I look into your eyes
I can really feel the pain
Starin' in the mirror
At a victim of the game

Garth Brooks

Beautiful "nocturnal lover" feeling about this ... It appealed to me immediately.

Y'all be sangin'.. I love what you did here, Donna..the picture has interest and feeling.
Miss_DJ (edited May 21, 2006)
thank you my warm and sensitive friends. I love this song, but thank God it's only a song and I'm still sober after 17 yrs / March 12th, 1989. YEAH!!! (don't want my long distance buddies to freak out and start thinkin I may have fallen off the wagon...no way Jose. I'm too high on my life to not "be all there" to experience every minute!)
