It fails to look evil. It just suceeds in being damn cute. Pitchforks are just amazing. One hallowe'en (back in the day) I had one and I stabbed this guy with it. Now I'm an Urban Legend : the evil, possessed trick or treater. I like it. You know, he looks kinda like Dracula!

I see you went for the anime eyes. ;-)One thing that stands out a bit is the lack of eyebrows... the eyes don't feel very feminine. The eye shading is probably the best part of the piece though. As for the mask tool, basically if you set a mask, you'll never be able to draw on top of that color. A reverse mask means you can *only* draw on top of that color. It essentially is a nice way of pretending your outlines are on a layer above your coloring--in a limited sense.
