Reminds me of an episode of The Kids Next Door when number one's dad was abducted while fishing. I like the movement you used in his legs swaying about.

Reminds me of that painting The Scream by Munch, which I think I remember it being stolen awhile back, except this is at night and without the guy. Good sense of movement, but I'd like it if some of the things closer up were less blurred to give my eyes something to focus on.

I could say the same thing about talking on msn sometimes. I like that you made this mostly a negative image with reversed lighting, and that you still kept the eyes mostly normal. It gives the impression of the world around you being out of balance but that the inner you is trying to find a balance.

Fanart vs original characters
Shanghai (edited Mar 8, 2005)
First of all I'll say that character copyrights is something I've never really understood. Major companies will claim copyrights on their original characters and yet there's countless thousands of "fanart" drawings online that no one seems to care about. I've heard of the owners of various comic characters, for example the Superman and Shazam! comics, sueing one another simply for having similar characters and yet as far as I've seen from reading US copyright laws from government websites and si...

Neat title. Nice blend of colors. No one wants to be just a cover page, what matters more is what's in the book. lol Well, maybe I shouldn't be saying that lol since I'm not such a bookworm myself but, but, figuratively speaking. lol You know the whole proverb. lol Anyhow, neat art. The colors are very moody.

It has a great antique look to it. I like how there's a subtle transition toward the highlights on her shoulders.

very nice artwork! Like the blue outline and colors. ^^

I like your use of both simple shapes and colors. I think they mirror each other well since they're both very straight-forward and to the point. Also the shoulders are looking very naturalistic to me. I want to snuggle with them.

It's an interesting idea, but if that's Santa then why is he not wearing red? Anyways, you may be interested in the snowman series from the Calvin and Hobbes comics, you can find them on this page here.

It's just supposed to be a kid all bundled up. I'm not very good at using the drawing applets yet. And by the way I love the snowmen in Calvin & Hobbes. :O)

Hello. It's a cute drawing you made. I'm just getting used to shi-painter myself too, I've only used it a few times.

Mind giving us a little description? One sentence or a phrase even? Eventually you'll be writting artist statements with your work if you decide to put anything in a show, and it's good practice to start now.
marsroxx (Mar 8, 2005)
This is a very soulful piece. I am haunted by the reflection of death but it is contrasted by the beauty of life. I believe this piece shows a schism in the artist, who feels conflicted about something and may not know where to turn. Good job expressing your feelings through art.
