This looks like a fable or story being told by an old Eskimo to some younsters and this is how they would see it. Oh, Dave beat me. Be interesting to see you do some comic panels in this style with a full story. Ok my imagination won't shut off.

Nicely done, almost suede. Only thing to me is the outlines are a little ragged and there's some bleeding in some areas (color showing through.) Maybe just clean up the lines and sharpen the toe and top and heel.

Perfect.I just wanted to put in Gir's shadow because he didn't seem to be part of the picture, and if the sun is behind them casting Zim's shadow it's only natural Gir's would too, even if there isn't one in the official picture. Now it looks finished.

I had one of those growing up (but I can't remember if it was Anne or Andy) And I still have a childrens book from the 80's. Thanks for the memories Kute. :)

Raggedy Ann! :) I loved the book, and my Raggedy Ann doll was one of my favorites, although I put her through way more hell than Marcella did in the stories...my Alaskan Simoan dog Snow White ripped my Raggedy Ann's head off in the end. I think we should start calling Marcello "Marcella"... it's much closer to home. :DI'm glad you did this picture, it brought back lots of funny memories, and you did such a cute job in depicting them.

Thanks everyone for the great comments on these, I guess they are just "Old Favorites" of a lot of people. Actually I do paint a lot of childrens characters for pay but on canvas I do much better than on the net. I am really not half as good as I would like to be. I have painted so many Winnie the Pooh pictures I have grown not to like "The Pooh" much. LOL My favorite childrens characters to paint is Disney, Mickey and Minnie. I just love them and could never paint them enough.

Sweetcell & shults, don't look at the "water", look at the mid-tones, highlights, lowlights, and shadows along with the over all shape. Keep trying though!! You'll get it!!
