I was playing with the sharp tool and thought this turned out kind of interesting.

I agree... the colors are cool, the shape outside the big face looks like a fingerprint
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Jun 30, 2004)
yeah, reeeeally interesting. I never could get it to do anything significant. This is pretty cool, though.
davincipoppalag (Jul 1, 2004)
It kinda does look like a fingerprint. I can't see anything that sharpening tool does , I must be retarded. It never does a thing when I try it.
laurael (Jul 1, 2004)
Yes, very interesting effects...it also sort of looks like two faces floating in water. :)

DeadlyBlondeArcher (Jul 1, 2004)
Wahhhh! These are so funny... so this is the girl mudskipper's pimp, huh? HAH! These should have their own book, you know... when are they having children? I want to see what their babies look like.
Reprah (Jul 1, 2004)

Nice one. ^.^ The hair looks so soft and silky. XD
Aubrey (Jun 26, 2004)
It's still a mystery to me cause I dunno who Brianna is lol. I like girl of course but also the background cause it has a sort of leafy look to it. Nice one Laurael :)
Knockoff (Jun 28, 2004)
Shes pretty ;) She doesn't look so happy though.
Still an awesome drawing. Great colors.
Pantera (Jul 1, 2004)

Lol! This is clever, laureal. I love that little green birdie's facial expression!
Gigandas (Jun 30, 2004)
Hehehe, funny to think he's flying with such a fragile looking cape XD.But man, I'd stay away from that guy, looks like he could stand quite a beating. The bird is great too with that face of his XDDD.Nice one, laurael :).Just wondering but is the green bird like his sidekick?XD
laurael (edited Jun 30, 2004)
Naw...he was just flyin' along and got frightened by such a 'bigger' creature flying. That cape happens to be his 'recieving' (or baby) blanket. :) which is just for 'super hero' looks and security, btw. (He can actually fly without it)
Gigandas (Jun 30, 2004)
lol, I thought he was always frightened to be his sidekick XDD.Must be a magical baby too to be able to fly without a cape.Even Superman needs a cape....well now this guy can show him off can't he ;)?

Gigge (Jun 29, 2004)
Yay! You finished. I like the way the sky emphasized the center spire. The pic really has a spiritual feel.
emmamommalag (Jun 29, 2004)
Very nice! I like the lights here and there.
Zack (Jun 30, 2004)
This is great. One wonders what kind of society dwells in these spires.

haha, thanks Clox. I'll see about Xod.

I was thinking maybe porn sites have good models but I got kinda scared about having my family come in and thinking I was some kind of weirdo. Im trying to find a simple model without any sexual gestures. So natually, porn is out of the question. Arrrgh, I have a feeling this is gonna take me ages.
Kloxboy (May 30, 2004)
This might help, or maybe not

I used these books to better my antomy skills as well better myself as an artist:
The Human Machine by George Briggman - a good book to learn the mechanics of anatomy
Dynamic Anatomy by Burne Hogarth - great book and Hogarth is one of the best
50 Secrets of Magic Craftmanship by Salvador Dali - aside from sounding kinda insane at times, it's a great book
Gray's Anatomy - this book is best for learning terms
Anatomy for the Artist by Jeno Barcsay - this has great drawings in it and another good term book
There are a few others I own but those I listed helped me most.
Of course, don't take my word for it. <some of you are old enough to get that joke, I hope, that line is right up there with "...and knowing is half the battle"
Kasha (May 30, 2004)
ohh yay! thanks Clox.
Fin_beast (edited Aug 20, 2004)
Kasha... you are a fucking lamer... :P This rox0rz.
The really soft lines and then the really dark ones really make it work.
Is there a reference or is that from your head? It better not be from your head. :B
I wish I had the style you have. *sigh* *stalks kasha*

I thought Lawrence Welk was around with all those bubbles. This is sort of Dali-esque, I like it.

It's hard to believe, but I think that entire rock island is made up of bird poop.
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Jun 29, 2004)
You really think so? Pretty gulls and water, anyway. :)
Rosemary (Jun 29, 2004)
nice drawing :)
davincipoppalag (Jun 29, 2004)
This is quite nice. I am partial to marine scenes. I would like this better with more sharpness and definition in the water, but it is a very nice picture.

is it phisteria..don't know if I spelled that right. The disease where fish turn up dead on the shore with lesions.
davincipoppalag (Jun 29, 2004)
If this fish was from Europe and washed up in America, would that be a Foreign Lesion? (slaps self hard on the side of the head)
xwindflyer (Jun 29, 2004)
LOL at davinci, looks like a lure that snaged it's fin.
