Modern Day Drifter
Cameo
(Feb 19, 2007)
I'm gonna be a Modern Day DrifterGet out while I can. Gonna trade in this life I've been livin' for a pocket full of sand. And a Modern Day drifter don't have to tell no one his plans. I'm gonna find that lost stretch of highway Where no one knows my name. Where as long as the sky just goes on And it's never the same. And a Modern Day Drifter don't ever complain. Bye Bye How life Feels like the right time Keep on going strong And I'll just keep on being gone. Cause I'm gonna be a Modern Day Drifter Yes I am. Gonna slip this ring off my finger Cause everybody understands. That a Modern Day Drifter's got nothing but time on his hands. Dierks Bentley
Axil62 (Feb 20, 2007)
That's true.
Press (Feb 20, 2007)
why would you want to be a drifter?
Cameo (edited Feb 20, 2007)
To get away from it all, Press! To be responsible for no one but myself. But of course that is unlikely except in this painting. So Marcello and Axil is my painting right or wrong?
Axil62 (Feb 20, 2007)

I see the path you've made that's all your own. I see the many unique talents and gifts you have to share. I see your briliance, your enthusiasm, and how deeply you care and, sometimes, hurt. I see your hard-earned wisdom, your soft pure innocence, your courage and compassion, your unconditional goodness. I see what a difference you make in the world.....

I think you're under the wrong impression Klox. When we do the little "Hey I think you should change that rating" thing, I just play along with you like a little comedy skit thing. I don't need your permission to change it back to everyone. It's really not that important in the first place.

"Actual incident that happened in Eugene,Oregon,recently"--where gay groups attacked musician's private concert, and destroyed his whole concert, refusing to let him express himself in First Amendment,(free speech)because there were some gay slurs in some of the lyrics. His whole concert had to be cancelled, cause it was physically destroyed by gay groups in the area. Thus, although in Eugene,Oregon, gay groups are very able to protest, have their own concerts, and have their own meetings,if anyone who has anti-gay lyrics in any songs, has a private concert, then gay groups are allowed to destroy them. So,we do not have freedom of speech in eugene,Oregon,(which is extremely "Liberal",)cause only gay groups are allowed to express themselves, and if you do not like them, you cannot say that, at all. You will be made to SHUT UP. This is not fiction, this is an actual news item, that really happened, and was reported in the newspaper, In Eugene, Oregon. (I think it was the Daily Emerald, the university of ORegon paper.) The people who paid for tickets to the concert, were very upset, and said, "hypocrites,"it was reported. I drew it, cause I just had to express how I felt, and get it out of my system. How "facist" the whole behavior was. This is supposed to be America,United States, and yet some groups are allowed freedom of speech, and some groups are not. This whole incident,(and other Liberals' acceptance of the action,)has really turned me off to gay organizations, and also Liberals. I used to have gay freinds, and was never prejudiced, but the recent behavior is really making me become right wing. (I am an Independent.) Now,I refuse to vote in Democrats. (I hate Pres. Bush, and those people, but it seems they are ALL CORRUPT, both parties. sorry, this was a drawing to express my frustration.

sounds awful, I dont think they should do things like that at all,,,I cant condone their actions... but why would someone want to sing anti gay songs anyway? ... I was watching a BBC TV programme - TopGear,( a Car review programme) ,, three journalists drove through alabama and painted "man love," and "country sucks" on their cars for a laugh- when they stopped off at a petrol station the owner started shouting at them, a truck full of men pulled up and they and the camera crew were stoned and had to drive off ...so- there is bad behaviour on both sides - neither should be condoned... people react because they are threatened,,, perhaps we should learn more wisdom...

Do you know? I didn't know! How could we?Did you know that 47 countries' have reestablished their embassies in Iraq? Did you know that the Iraqi government currently employs 1.2 million Iraqi people? Did you know that 3100 schools have been renovated, 364 schools are under rehabilitation, 263 new schools are now under construction and 38 new schools have been completed in Iraq? Did you know that Iraq's higher educational structure consists of 20 Universities, 46 Institutes or colleges and 4 research centers, all currently operating? Did you know that 25 Iraq students departed for the United States in January, 2005, for the re-established Fulbright program? Did you know that the Iraqi Navy is operational? They have 5 - 100-foot patrol craft, 34 smaller vessels and a naval infantry regiment. Did you know that Iraq's Air Force consists of three operational squadrons, which includes 9 reconnaissance and 3 US C-130 transport aircraft(under Iraqi operational control) which operate day and night, and will soon add 16 UH-1 helicopters and 4 Bell Jet Rangers? Did you know that Iraq has a counter-terrorist unit and a Commando Battalion? Did you know that the Iraqi Police Service has over 55,000 fully trained and equipped police officers? Did you know that there are 5 Police Academies in Iraq that produce over 3500 new officers each 8 weeks? Did you know there are more than 1100 building projects going on in Iraq? They include 364 schools, 67 public clinics, 15 hospitals, 83railroad stations, 22 oil facilities, 93 water facilities and 69 electrical facilities. Did you know that 96% of Iraqi children under the age of 5 have received the first 2 series of polio vaccinations? Did you know that 4.3 million Iraqi children were enrolled in primary school by mid October? Did you know that there are 1,192,000 cell phone subscribers in Iraq and phone use has gone up 158%? Did you know that Iraq has an independent media that consists of 75 radio stations, 180 newspapers and 10 television stations? Did you know that the Baghdad Stock Exchange opened in June of 2004? Did you know that 2 candidates in the Iraqi presidential election had a televised debate recently? OF COURSE WE DIDN'T KNOW! WHY DIDN'T WE KNOW? OUR MEDIA WOULDN'T TELL US! Instead of reflecting our love for our country, we get photos of flag burning incidents at Abu Ghraib and people throwing snowballs at the presidential motorcades. Tragically, the lack of accentuating the positive in Iraq serves two purposes: It is intended to undermine the world's perception of the United States thus minimizing consequent support, and it is intended to discourage American citizens. ---- Above facts are verifiable on the Department of Defense web site. http://www.defenselink.mil/

dorothyblueeyes, first of all I like your name. Secondly, I live in Oregon, do you? Thirdly, I think it's excellent that you expressed yourself here as you COULD without the worry of Marcello 'destroying' your gallery/userboard, etc. Thank God we can vent here!! The double standard bullshit that you've described stinks to high heaven. I know it runs rampant in our country and yeah, probably everywhere to some degree. It reminds me of a long time ago when I was with a really nice guy that got jumped for NO REASON outside a bar by about 5 'hippies'...I was ASTONISHED at the time. Silly me, I thought all 'hippies' were peace-loving, easy-going people. Oh contrare...my eyes are now much wider open, but at 19, I believed in people unconditionally much more than now. It's amazing what we're all capable of, I think. The darker side is indeed ugly.Nice draw. Hope you feel a little less bogged down since expressing yourself....sometimes, it's all we can do. love, Missdj
