I'll have to agree, this is less crappy than the usual difference tool abuse.
Miss_DJ (Jan 17, 2007)
sigh...it's unfortunate that you like to say things in such a negative way Marcello. Was it bothering you so much that someone actually said something nice about a drawing of mine that I used the tools provided to create? If you didn't want us to use the tools, why offer them? The bottom line for me is that it is my OWN creation. It was a white canvas when I started. So how I arrive at the finished product seems irrelevant to me. At least I'm creating original art. I consider that an achievement all of it's own.
davincipoppalag (Jan 17, 2007)
Don't worry about 'cello donna...that was a high compliment from him!
Miss_DJ (Jan 17, 2007)
Oh it was?! I must have misread the comment...lol Then by all means, thanks, Marcello!! :o)

Maybe it's a piece of metal that has been hammered to hell, then painted on.
nyao (Jan 17, 2007)

I love Vikings, they're so manly when they're plundering and raping. :)
hideyourface (Jan 15, 2007)
i think the helmet doesn't really look symmetrical and its kind of messy, which takes away form the picture.
Cameo (Jan 15, 2007)
Just how well does Dan handle critisism? Actually I think it's pretty cool, even if I don't get into that sort of thing!
hideyourface (Jan 15, 2007)
I really like how on the top above the eye on the right theres all those little dents in the metal. I'd like to see those in more detail. Also I forgot to mention how awesome the eyes look.

I don't understand why you'd want to change anything at all about this.
DrawingDork (Jan 17, 2007)
Looks pretty "full-assed" to me! I wish I could draw like this!! I really love your tree!!
lori (Jan 17, 2007)

davincipoppalag (Jan 17, 2007)

We come from the land of the ice and snow,
from the midnight sun where the hot springs blow.
The hammer of the gods
Will drive our ships to new lands,
To fight the horde, singing and crying:
Valhalla, I am coming!
On we sweep with threshing oar,
Our only goal will be the western shore.
Ah, ah,
We come from the land of the ice and snow,
from the midnight sun where the hot springs blow.
How soft your fields so green,
Can whisper tales of gore,
Of how we calmed the tides of war.
We are your overlords.
On we sweep with threshing oar,
Our only goal will be the western shore.
So now youd better stop and rebuild all your ruins,
For peace and trust can win the day
Despite of all your losing.

I think you've always known that this particular "look" in a guy is one that I've always been attracted to, but I'm not sure you know that in the Society for Creative Anachronism I have a Norse persona. A lot of people don't realize that the Vikings were actually very clean people. They were also very good farmers and traders as well as excellent artisans. The information now available out there about them is fascinating as hell. I love the pic, Dan. Makes me think of a Norsemen just returning from a long voyage...he's tired, and dirty and happy to be home. Yep, I'd do him.
Axil62 (Jan 15, 2007)
I might have a beer with the guy, but I wouldn't do him.

Good job Jessy. I love you. :)
Kloxboy (Jan 14, 2007)
Congratulations Orkdoop! "Jean Harlow" is awarded first place for Contest Week 42: Do over!. You can see a tremendous growth in Orkdoop's digital drawing skills in this piece. Aside from blowing her old piece out of the water, Orkdoop demonstrates a stronger sense of proportions, an eye for detail and an all around more advanced drawing ability. I also found the gradient patterns in the clothing to be an innovative approach to making fabric textures. You've come a long way siski.
davincipoppalag (Jan 15, 2007)
Congratulations on the win Jessica!
