I know it�s probably kind of corny now that the movie has been out for a while. I am just happy that I was able to finish this�and it turned out not to bad. When I first started I never intended on finishing or even submitting. But I did : D <= ME

Ummm, ok. That background is terrific (the left side especially). I could totally tell it was Johnny Depp and that's really cool how it looks exactly like him. But I think I much prefer Gene Wilder's version of Willy Wonka, he had more spunk. Not that Johnny doesn't but I thought Johnny Depp was a little weird for this character despite the fact that I think he's good looking in some way. I don't think it suits him to be Wonka.

Woo. Go Tim Burton for not trying to copy Gene Wilder's version. And for trying to create a different type of Willy Wonka. [pisses me off that people try to compare the two when they weren't spose to be compared at all v_v]
Very very nice realism. The background and the character is very nicely done. The eyes look a tad to close too close. Other than that, its quite lovely.

It's good, but it's not realism. Heh. It's actually anime, in my opinion. Use a ref. to help make your art more realistic if you want.
It's a good anime pic though. The shading and the strands of hair are a nice touch.

i never said it WAS realism.. just the closest i've ever gotten to it.. i can't draw anything thing other than anime and animals, which is sad ~_~ i dont even think im going to try realism.. i'd get too frustraited@_@

Jhonen Vasquez's style is very, VERY, hard to duplicate.

Jhonen Vasquez's style is easy, to my opinion, unless you are used to drawing anime. Especially pretty people anime, because Jhonen Vasquez doesn't draw pretty people :3.
Thicker lines, definately. And thinner lines in the details.

hey Iycene, you've done a great job so far. if it helps, i have some advise; Right nostril needs enlarging (keep the lips in proportion to the nose). Right cheek needs decreasing, and last but not least...amplify the eyes, make them bigger koz they real sweet to look at.

Here's some more things to look into:
The face is too wide from left to right (pull it inwards), left end of nose (from our view) needs to be pulled over to the left more so that it's partially past the tear ductof the eye, lower the upper right side of her lip (pull left corner up as well), pull chin in, use more darks on the makeup around the eyes, pull the entire mouth over to the bottom left side of the face, widen "her" left nostril. And most importantly, enlarge the eyes a bit and then shift "her" left eye below her right eye (right now it's backwards, and it's throwing off the angle of her face).

People can like what they choose, whether obsessed or not, I find it sweet they can remain focused on something. Or inspiration source.
++I like the simple shading on here. It looks especially good with the smooth texture. :)
