This is Leon from Tales of Destiny (PS). He's my first one of these, but I have a decent idea of what I'm doing. If I posted him in the wrong place, sorry about that, but I hope you all like him! I put a lot of time into it. The picture I based it from is on tales-central.com

just realized this is posted on advanced - i thought I clicked intermediate.. oops. Anyways I figured I probably should put a bit of effort in. I'd appreciate any tips on how to make the tattoos look like part of the skin. I think they're a little better but still not right.

Oh ...Gray! I'm diggin' it Marcus. The Red eye really stands out against the gray background. I'd almost like to see the lines done in a really dark gray, so he almost emerges from the background, but the eye/hair extremely vivid. The gradation in the hair is nice, as well as the composition. (I haven't seen you do a pure male portrait in a long time.) What's the black dot on his nose? Anyway:

the shape of the flowers is drawn well, but the shading could use work. If want them to look real, you shouldn't outline them, and you should draw the colour of one, then add shading, and highlights. Also, if those are vines in the back, you should make them thinner, and add some detail (look at references of stuff like that can really help with tiny details that make it look so much better)

i see what you mean
i did use a darker shade insted of the burn tool to do the shading i liked the look much better. the vines are not rose vines but Wisteria i was going to put 1 of those flowers but the roses took up the area i still have room. i think i will go back and do some but next time i will take your advice into account about leaving out the out lines thanks for the help

edit they should be mixed with the vines or right on top of them i think i can go back and make it look more like that.
