featherstone

I wanted to draw it so I did
terracotta (Feb 1, 2006)
I like the tonal qualities of the picture and the watercolour sketchiness. Is it meant to be Sisyphus? If you don't know the story behind the picture, here's a link to it:http://www.nyu.edu/classes/keefer/hell/camus.html
featherstone (Feb 1, 2006)
I don't really know the thoughts behind this picture... on the page I found the ref. it said it was a digitally enhanced photo(and I didn't draw the whole "photo", there were more stones)anyway, thanks for the link, makes it all more interesting
SYTHE (Feb 1, 2006)
TC, you are wise. FS this is a very interesting picture, nicely done.
Sweetcell (Feb 4, 2006)
This is fine work. I thought it was from the movie Incredible Shrinking Man. |

voodoobunny (Jan 31, 2006)
I love this. It's so smooth and the colors are nice.
hideyourface (edited Feb 1, 2006)
You're really an arrogant fuck Cindy.I really like how this picture turned out. I was always obsessed with aliens when I was younger and this looks a lot like what I used to draw. Real cool blue.
Sweetcell (Feb 4, 2006)
So glad you finished, it's beautiful. |

Hell of an angel Skin that shines like pearls Eyes that make your soul bleed Innocent and sweet Your friends surely agree Like candy she's a real treat But sugar's far from calm I don't mean to alarm By the time you blink The shit kicks in I'm walkin' up the stairs My heart's beating fast Following her legs To her thighs To her yeah, yeah, yeah Like a knife at my throat I like the way that she gropes Her curves make my blood swim in my veins Her pain comes in doses Till you're one step closer Then you're completely insane Hung by a halo and stabbed by horns Then she'll tell you they're both the same I went to bed with an angel At least that's what she said But as she tore off her dress Lord I must confess I got the devil's daughter I got the devil's daughter in my bed
Sweetcell (Feb 4, 2006)
Awesome as usual, don't you dare delete. My goodness what can you do on a large canvas? BTW, what song is that from? You quote a lot of songs that I almost know.
Miss_DJ (edited Feb 5, 2006)
sizzlin'......what a pearl of a girl
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Feb 5, 2006)

suzie (Feb 19, 2006)
The skin tones, her shape, and pose are all so beautiful. The flames are good but they just focus your eyes on her..gorgoeus work. |

...seeing what had happened, Wanda took the flattened Larry into the alleyway and re-inflated him for a mere $20.00.

DeadlyBlondeArcher (Jan 31, 2006)
(lol @ snort) :)... I hate to work poor lil' ole' Bob's fingers to the bone, but I am dying to know what Larry's estranged, yet violent and psychopathic wife is going to do to him when she catches him rounding that corner with that big fat smile and 20 bucks less in his wallet.... Talk about needing paramedics, now. ;)
SYTHE (Jan 31, 2006)
Hey, I thought that guy was dead.....aw man......now I gotta cancel the funeral arrangements. What a second, who was the guy we had embalmed......oh well. -very hummerous-
friend (Feb 1, 2006)

Yup. She had a rough day, she did. I don't know how much mascara you'd have be wearing to get it to run like that.
shining_star_sam (Jan 31, 2006)
Crikey... I've felt like that a few times... brilliant draw
hideyourface (edited Feb 1, 2006)
the bridge of the nose looks a bit too squareish and the eyes are a little too far apart, but other that that, I really like this.
patienceisoverrated (Feb 1, 2006)
Thanks, everybody. I think everyone feels like this sometimes XPYeah, hideyourface, I noticed about the eyes when I was nearly done, and tried to shift them over, but the select tool in lascaux gives me hives, so eventually I just left it alone.
hideyourface (Feb 2, 2006)
YEAH I KNOW. The select in lascaux is a bitch. |

I heard a story once, I can't remember all the details. It was about an Emperor and a painter. For whatever reason, the painter was faced with death for some infraction. The Emperor made a deal with the painter, a deal that if the painter could paint the most beautiful meaningful painting the Emperor had ever seen, his life would b spared. The painter thought long and hard. After the painter was finished with the painting the Emperor was floored by the pure genius and beauty of the painting. This is my version of that painting. The Emperor loved it because it was a brilliant concept, the bird already having left the painting both shows movement, insight, simplicity and lets the viewer imagine their own interpretation of a beautiful bird, therefore seeing one. I don't know if it's a true story or not, but I've always liked it.
marcello (Feb 1, 2006)
It also really helps to use tablet pressure on size/opacity for clouds. Like a hella lot.
Axil62 (Feb 1, 2006)
Yup, forgot to mention that. ( I foolishly assume everyone uses it. Why wouldn't you want your tools to simulate a brush as closely as possible?)It's like.... yeah, it isn't gonna work out to well unless you do use pressure sensitivity.
pandabarrie (Jun 30, 2006)
oohhhuhHOLY SHIT!i was looking through your gallery, stopped at this one for a bit and when i went to scroll down again, i could have sworn the clouds moved..... |

I usually have problems drawing noses but I probably shouldn't have "outlined" it like I did - makes it pop out too much. Will try to develop more on this style on the next one.
DBA: At first I thought you meant the rules of this board but no...I was denied posting on some other board because I didn't do photorealism (rules were kind of unclear in that place)...
