DeadlyBlondeArcher (Dec 13, 2005)
is still wild in Mingus, Texas. Sometimes the population gets up to 215 or so on a Wednesday, but on Saturday night they always bring it back down to 212.

this is really nice, cindy =) i've always wanted to go to texas, it seems like a lovely place.
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Dec 14, 2005)
heh, yeah, it is, but Mingus is not where I'd recommend that you visit. :)
Axil62 (Dec 14, 2005)
I like the shadow on the post the most. is that guy a ghost? (tried to think of a way to work in the word "host" or "roast" but, no nope)
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Dec 14, 2005)
Yes, he is... I think you can see through him. When I was 5 years old we were in Strawn (it's a couple of miles from Mingus, where my grandparents' ranch is) in this cafe called Flossie's, and this really bowlegged cowboy came in and I swear his spurs were really jingling and he was covered with dirt, and he said really loud, "I'm gettin' marr'd in Mingus tahnight." I remember wondering if he was gonna take a bath first, but I don't think it mattered because I hear she was widowed before the night was up. :) That could be him.

I hope this is enough for intermediate board.
Didn't take that long, my mom was fixing my jeans and I had to "help" her, like 40 mins *u*;;
3njoy!

The face looks a little strange, but I really like the eyes and the hair.
Nice work, iNa.
SYTHE (Dec 13, 2005)
Shows promise, I like the hair. I think the eyes could use a little work and clean up the edges a little, but overall very promising.
Pakasutemanshikuka (Dec 14, 2005)
thanks! I'll clean up the eyes.. soon. There's some other things I could clean... oh well bye then!

We went out for beers and a couple laughs
Knowing full well that every bad joke that Jimmy told, might be his last
So we laughed like the world wasn't at war
Said things to him we'd never said before
And he teared up as he held up his glass
He said, boys if i dont make it back

Have a beer for me
Don't waste no tears on me
On Friday night sit on the visitors side and cheer for the home team
Drive my camaro
90 miles an hour down Red Rock road
with Born to Run blasting on the radio
And find someone good enough for Amy,
who will love her like I would have
If I don't make it back

We said Hey man now that ain't gonna happen,
don't even think like that
We know you, you'll pull through without a scratch
He pulled me aside in the parking lot,
said Amy and me were gonna tie the knot,
you're my best man, just wanted you to know that
Just in case I don't make it back

If the good Lord calls me home I'd like to think my friends will think
about me when I'm gone

Well Miller Light ain't my brand,
but I drink one every now and then
in his honor
And we ain't missed a home game yet
Had that camaro at 110 on Red Rock road
when the speakers blowed
And I introduced Amy to a friend of mine from Monroe,
he's a good ole boy
But you know,
she just ain't ready...

there are many words people use regulary that aren't in the dictionary. Quit acting like you're somehow better than me.

edit: sorry for posting all this crap on your picture.

I adore this woodcut/scratchboard print style, I love it!
Punky (Dec 9, 2005)
Same with what TRIP said, the woodcut look is great. :) Great job with the black and white, I'm envious. :B
mx (Dec 13, 2005)

I presume this is a reflection? We have done this in life class... her expression is pained as if the pose was difficult to hold- and yet i also see it as two seperate figures- perhaps identical twins, sharing some secret they cannot speak about!
davincipoppalag (Jun 2, 2004)
These are two New York City mannequins in a storeroom at Nordstern's waiting to be dressed with the newest fashions and placed in the window with perfectly coifed wigs.
julietjuniper (Dec 13, 2005)
i suppose this is a reflection. if so, i like how the reflection and the woman herself are both looking towards the spectator, it's eerie and so not right. so creepy! i love it.
kejoco (Dec 13, 2005)
Thanks...it was a reflection
I would do a much better job on this now then I did
