No, Showcase are pictures that mods feel are outstanding, or that they really like. It's not necessarily the best drawn picture. Otherwise most Advanced drawings would be in it. It all depends on the mods.

As for the contest, as it says after every ten competitions a piece is chosen for Showcase, and Shanghai and I go over things carefully and agree on a piece.

Not only does this look like a photo, but it's exactly the kind of place that would have me sitting on the ground for hours just contemplating. It makes me happy just viewing it.
