Ah aha, Nosferatu, yess. :D I was wondering if anyone would draw him. Or his shadow in this case, I suppose. I like the parts where he's prowling around the ship, too.
It's more than just an old spooky silent movie - it's an important part of film history. German expressionism, whoowhoo. (Cabinet of Dr. Caligari? Anyone?)
Congratulations davincipoppalag, Nosferatu is awarded first place for Contest Week 63: Vampyre's.
This movie brought the Vampire to the mainstream public and still to this day manages to bring a fright to people. This pictures looks like a still from the movie, seeing the creature just before he strikes, and you managed to capture the scary atmousphere with the use of light's and shadow. There's even a grainyness to the piece. With the interesting angle of the door and his lurking clawed shadow it instantly takes me back to the scene, and makes a shiver run down my back.
JUDGING CRITERIA:
Creativity: The amount of imagination, originality and expressiveness that was put into the entry. none.
Technique & Effort: The amount of style, skill and craft that was put into the entry. very little.
Following the Theme: How well the entry followed the theme of the contest. so what? everyone did.
It's not an art contest, it's a popularity contest. Call it what it is you chicken shit mother fuckers.
Sheesh, I log in to congratulate davinci on his piece and of course, Axil's here again to share with us his bitterness. Feels like some prolonged pathetic charity work.
Congrats on your win davinci :)! I think you did a great job with this one. I was actually surprised that you did a more serious horror-genre piece :P. Love that shadow and posture captured within it.
