So... it's Saturday night and I'm all alone and feelin' kinda blue, and then I hear this sound on my wooden living room floor... jingle, jangle... jingle..., I poke my head around the corner, and it's a long, tall redheaded cowboy named Brian that I have known since he was a little boy, and he tips his hat and says "Lookin' gorgeous Ma'am, as always", and grins. Yes, that's my coffee table, and he can put his feet up there anytime (that's why I have a coffee table made of wood, just like the floor :) and spit in a can while he sits on my couch. Ain't no bitchin' 'bout that kind of behavior around here, because sweet, well-mannered cowboys always make my blues go away. :D
Brian manages one of the large ranches just a skip from my house. He had his spurs custom made and I think they're cool because they're a clover, (and the rowels are rounded on the ends so they're gentle to the horses) so I decided to take a picture and paint them.

And I'm right back where I've really always been
I got over you just long enough to let my heartaches mend
Then today I started loving you again.
What a fool I was to think I could get by
With only these few million tears I've cried
And I should have known the worst was yet to come
And crying time for me had just begun.
'Cause today I started loving you again
And I'm right back where I've really always been
I got over you just long enough to let my heartaches mend
Then today I started loving you again.
Yes, today I started loving you again...
THE HAG
or was that yesterday? :)

I don't even bother closing the front door all the way shut till the latch clicks, much less locking it... I know I have company when I hear a boot kick and someone yells "Highway Patrol!" (my little brother and whomever happens to be with him,) lol... or... the wind blows through the house and then I hear the jingle jangle clomping on my floor. It's pretty much open house around here all the time. :)
....if that makes any sense.
(thanks Gig and Ingrid)
Gretchen Wilson sings it best, I think: (might as well fill the whole picture text up with redneck lyrics, huh? :)
I ain't never had a problem with California
There's a lot of good women from Sacramento to Corona
But them Hollywood types after a while wearon ya
Struttin' around in their size zeros
Skinny little girls no meat on their bones
Never even heard of George Jones
Ain't you glad we ain't all California girls
Ain't you glad there's still a few of us left
That know how to rock your world
Ain't afraid to eat fried chicken and dirty dance to Merle
Ain't you glad we ain't all California girls
There ain't nothing wrong with plastic surgery
Well Dolly Parton never looked so good to me
Everybody ought to be exactly who they want to be
But that Paris Hilton Gets under my skin
With her big fake smile and and her painted on tan
She'd never have a chance at a real man
Aint you glad we ain't all California girls
Ain't you glad there's still a few of us left
That know how to rock your world
Ain't afraid to eat fried chicken and dirty dance to Merle
Ain't you glad we ain't all California girls
Ain't you glad we ain't all California girls.

Think I'm probably just one short revision away from being finished with this, but I'll wait till it's not 3 am when I can actually see what I've done here to decide that.
I just wonder how you got the woven texture on the jeans and the fine line of the leafs on the spur.
