It's true, really. Marcello bought a server for this site with his own money, and is managing it with his own money, along with the few donations that he receives from users here. He deserves respect all his hard work; remember, he doesn't HAVE to run this site. He could just as easily shut it down, if he wanted. But he doesn't.

First of all, "This is horrible" isn't constructive criticism. Saying that a picture is horrible is only offending. Sure, you just could've thought ahead and went "This is horrible! Maybe if you 'blah blah blah' it could've been better." Offending comments are not needed at all.

Secondly, in my oppinion, persistingly commenting that Marcello's picture is horrible deserves to be changed, just to be displayed as a lesson of some sort. You didn't learn the first time, did you? After getting your comment deleted, you just went on ahead and did it again. The phrase "If you don't succeed, try, try again" doesn't work in this situation, sorry. What you could've done is requested it to be deleted or moved because it is "distasteful". What you did was disrespectful, the way I see it.

Don't hurt me because I'm wrong or right.. I'm just saying what I THINK is right. And if you THINK that what I THOUGHT was right was wrong, don't bite my head off or anything like you did Mazi. If any mod deleted Marcello's drawing, he'd just bring it back. That's why he can do whatever he wants. He runs the damn site. Piss and moan all you want, it won't do you any good.

This reminds me of a certain situation where a particular user (I'm not naming names, because I can't remember his) decided to post a 5 min. drawing of a large penis. It looked like a six year-old did it. I had dealed with this kind of shit before, so I promptly deleted it, took a point deduction, and politely provided the user with my reason why. I refreshed the front page, and a penis was there again. I thought it was a bug, but I saw it was indeed, it was a different picture. This time, I got a little angry. All of this was happening in the advanced board. I repeated my process, and continued to refresh the page. Five cocks, and three comments I had to delete. The dude went from 50 points to -20 in less than ten minutes. I guess he really wanted to get banned.

I guess Mazi and I are a little bitter and have low tolerance for stupid comments like that. If you ask me, Sandra was asking for it.

Even if she was asking for it, doesn't make it alright to change someone's comment.Not even the worst and lowest words should be altered.Deleting a comment is still much more reasonable.If they continue nonstop, then you can ban them and that still wouldbe reasonable.But never, NEVER, is it okay to alter a comment that has nothing to do with something someone said.I don't care whether it be a spammer or not, it's inexcusable.

I have to admit though, I checked out the picture by Marcello that started this whole argument and it's definitely NOT Marcello's best work, or even close to it. The picture is where it belongs though, on the Beginner Board. All in all, had he put that pic on Advanced, I wouldn't respect Marcello much, especially after all that "Board Review" stuff. To rub it in our faces "I own this site and I can put my worst work on Advanced" would come off prick-ish to me, but alas he's not done that recently....note the "recently".

All in all this site is pretty kick ass and no other Oekaki site OR online drawing site is as good, as of yet anyway. I've been to many drawing sites, this one is my favorite by far. There is a lot of "higher power" decisions going on here but nothing that's outrageous or totally unforgivable. In the end, it would seem Zack is right, he usually is, damned know it all, hehe.

actually, this conversation is kind of funny.... I had this problem a few months ago when I was darkk_angel and when raenboe and knockoff didn't like me.... I would say things only in response to the needless criticisms aimed towards me and they would be deleted or changed... (knockoff and raenboe's comments were not deleted or changed).... Dear all, as a moderator at another site that shall be nameless can I just say that I often have to delete lots and lots of very RUDE words, OK so this site is a bit different but even so there should be an ability to have a discussion without the inevitable swearwords. If a peice of art is not good there is nothing wrong as far as Im concerned with saying it- but "peice of s*%$" is NOT acceptable, its rude and inconsiderate. I literally spend hours of unpaid time as a volunteer deleting crude, obcene , and very often cruel comments.... it Does not make me feel good, it does not make me feel happy to go to the site- but I have made an effort to continue because I believe it is important for the users their to have an interesting artistic time without being abused or picked on or bullied. This comment is in no way meant to be a criticism of the original thread on this forum.... but I just wanted to put an outsider "mods" point of view.

Yes and you do a great job CMB. I should go draw at that site again, it's simpler and has less rules. As well, you gotta love THOSE SILLY LITTLE PAWS! They're oh so silly.
