I checked the boards today and my picture of Rock Lee (from naruto) was gone... Why did you delete it? I personally thought it was my best so far, can you PLEASE get it back just for a while so I can save it to my computer?
  icon
PurpleLlamasRcoming (Nov 3, 2003)
hey! this is an example why my new deleting theory would work! if its an improvement, keep it. if its worse than your others, take it away. we should not be basing people's art on other, better pictures!!!!!!!!

mkkmypet, i feel your pain. same thing happened to me.

mkkmypet (Nov 3, 2003)
Well thank you, but I was hoping a moderator would post soon... <^-^>
  icon
raenboe (Nov 3, 2003)
If it's spam, it's spam. Even if it is better than your other pictures. I didn't see the pic, so i can't say much, but the mods have a reason for deleting everything and maybe it wasn't on the quality of the pic. maybe it was because of this bandwidth problem and this post is just adding to it. If we wanna still draw here we should stop spamming. I hope this gets deleted.
  icon
mkkmypet (Nov 3, 2003)
It wasn't SPAM. It was good. I think a moderator just deleted it because of the bandwith problem, but please only delete it if it really is SPAM. So please, moderators... RESPOND!!!
  icon
Knockoff (Nov 3, 2003)
Ummm Htey cna delete it for any reason, It just happends and if you can't take it you shouldn't even draw, If it was because of bandwith, Then there was nothing they could do, Would you rather have a picture that was deleted or the hole site gone,. Think about it, and I also think this topic should also be deleted,.

Ok Im done, And have a nice day everyone. *fake smile*

Zinc (Nov 3, 2003)
Would you like some cheese? If it's crap, it's crap. I judge spam the same way as I judge crap.

P.S. Remind me to ask you for your grand approval before I delete anything. Better yet, why don't you ask to be a moderator? You seem to know the concrete definition of spam and which pictures to delete and what not. Hell, your judgement is better than all the moderators' put together, isn't it? ;p
P.P.S. I'm very disappointed in myself for actually responding to this.

Response from a Moderator:

Deleting a picture has guidelines, you know. If its crap, then delete it. If you see that it isn't going to be finished, delete it. If it is spam, delete it.
~ We see it as crap, so therefore, it is crap. We go by what we see, by our own oppinions. Sure... We talk amongst each other, trying to agree upon the crappiness of the picture, but other than that, its our own point of view. If you can't see anyone else liking your picture, then don't send it. If you don't even like the picture yourself, don't send it. If its crap, and you're just drawing for a friend, use "Print screen" and paste the whole computer screen image on a picture editting program.

Not so hard, nh?

PurpleLlamasRcoming (Nov 4, 2003)
Hakkai, why not delete all those drawings marcello hasnt finished? and i think the "crapiness" of the pic should be based solely on the drawer and how good it is compared to their other drawings.
  icon
marcello (Nov 4, 2003)
I get special treatment, if someone did delete them, I could just put them right back, so why bother? Face it, all you have to do is completely rox0rz, and you get special treatment.
  icon
mkkmypet (Nov 19, 2003)
You keep saying "if it was crap, it's crap", and "if it was spam, it's spam", but my drawing wasn't spam or crap, so marcello, just get the picture back so i can save it, then you can delete it again.
  icon
marcello (Nov 19, 2003)
it's a pain in the ass to restore, if you want me to do it, it better have been a really good picture.
  icon
mkkmypet (Nov 19, 2003)
It IS.
  icon
marcello (Nov 19, 2003)
what is the title, and on what board is it?
  icon
RabidMalikFanGirl (Nov 19, 2003)
Ah, alas poor Marcello... (PS: I saw the pic before it got ba-leeted)

And I may be wrong but, according to her profile, she may be one of (if not the) youngest on 2Draw.

(Which unfortunately isn't saying much, but hey...)
  icon
mkkmypet (Dec 16, 2003)
Ah, it was called "Rock Lee" I think, and it was on the Beginner board. (I reply slow >_<) And what point are you trying to make, Malik? -_-
  icon
marcello (Dec 16, 2003)
yep, you're too late, sorry.
  icon
coffeejelly (Dec 16, 2003)
heh... interesting thread :o

*lurks in the background*

Tenor (Jan 21, 2004)
I'm confused. The idea i'm getting here is that if the pic I worked hard on doesn't live up to the mods standards, they call it crap and delete it? WTF?

I learnt an important lesson in trying to get people to eat their words. And that is that you must put your soul into it. And a lot of the time, the moderators (most of them, anyway) have a good eye for what's got 'soul' or not. 'soul' could include creativity, time, neatness, et cetera... So, whether it had soul or not, is not necessarily even up to you in 2Draw. It's up to them.

And thusly said, if you don't think you draw good enough for them to think it's got 'soul' in it, you probably shouldn't even draw here.

edit
mkkmypet, I think RabidMalikFanGirl is pointing out your age to also point out a very important thing. Young people don't usually draw that well. Especially on computer.

-- You can ask? hmmm....*Ponders* Anyways, I think somones skill should be taken into consideration. It wouldnt be 2draw if we were all superb drawers. Also I think mkk some talent for her age....and lastly if this is a bandwidth thing why not set a deadline (near future) to purge the boards from unfinished work.......or even delete uber old accounts if they suck.....?

freaking hell, how many times does it have to be explained that merely having the images doesn't take up bandwidth, it's people using the site, submitting pictures, users viewing the pictures, and a moderator deleting the picture. If a picture is on page 45823 and no one looks at it, it's not taking up any bandwidth.
However, bandwidth is not a big issue right now since the new server has 2.5x more, it's more of an issue of paying for the server period.
  icon
ky (edited Jan 21, 2004)
Okay, first off, calm down. Zappo said 'if'. Secondly, it's obviously not about bandwidth (and I knew that a while ago), so we need to put that aside and realise it was just deleted because someone didn't think it was good enough. The end. Problem solved. And very well, I might add.

mkkmypet (Feb 10, 2004)
I agree that most people who are my age draw not too well... But you can't judge someone by their age. check out my recent drawing: http://www.cellosoft.com/2draw/view/14912/
There are drawings by people 13-15 or whatever who have something not equal. ok, i'm done with the age point.

Zinc (edited Feb 10, 2004)
.....

Being 10 isn't an excuse. This site isn't intended for kids, legally, this site is only open to people 13 and older (some stupid law)... so I wouldn't make a big deal out of it.
We won't go out of our way to prevent younger individual from using the site, but the standards are fixed no matter how young or old you are. - Marcello

[Edit] AhahaAhahahaHaha.

Okay. By the way FoR took it, I should explain a little. The quote wasn't meant to pwn you, it was meant to explain that we don't hold anything against age. The point you supposedly just made didn't mean anything since nobody is deleting because of age anyway.
  icon
furyofroy (Feb 10, 2004)
ooh...pwn3d.
  icon
mkkmypet (Feb 12, 2004)
Grrr... *shakes fist* stupid government always making some stupid law.... >_<

alice_the_one (edited Feb 18, 2004)
hello how do you get yow pic up?
  icon
lilypad (Feb 25, 2004)
if the person tried hard to draw the pic and they were proud of it and it wasn't spam, why should the mods get to delete it 'cause THEY think it's crap?! what about the public's opinion?! huh?! HUH?! okay. i'll shut up now.
  icon
furyofroy (Feb 25, 2004)
Good. You're making a point that many people have made before you. The answer is yes, we can delete something if we think it is crap, or utter shit. It's annoying to explain this to every uppity n00b. Try drawing something and not submitting it. Try working harder on your pictures. Try improving.

Again:
You do not have to submit everything you draw.
  icon
mkkmypet (Feb 27, 2004)
Wow. 0_0 This is the longest lasting spam discussion topic, like, evar.
This is good, now I know many people are concered about spam. (which there hasn't been any recently!! : D)
  icon
marcello (Feb 27, 2004)
there has been tons of spam recently, what are you talking about?
it just gets deleted...
  icon
davincipoppalag (Feb 27, 2004)
The answer for you who lose pictures to deletions is to always save them to your own machine too, that way if its deleted , and you are proud of it.. you still have it.. no big deal..
  icon
Gothic_Otaku (edited Feb 28, 2004)
It's just a picture he drew people!!!! It's not going in a huge museum or nuthin!!!

2draw is a huge museum.

P.S.:this is an old quote which might be outdated.
  icon
lilypad (Mar 3, 2004)
ok. i will not shut up, DAVIN IS RIGHT! i have learned to do so. save it to your machine! that way, you still have it. and Otaku is right. 2draw is a huge museum. you submit your pictures for people to see and comment on, just at any other museum. now, mkkmypet, your problem i8s solved. oh, another thing, i didn't see the pic, but if it was unfinished, you should of put it as hidden. so there. just do a better redo of it.kay?-not a moderator.
