Ooh, this piece is nice! I agree with tigr3ss - the raven is very effective, despite some anatomical flaws - this piece was good enough to catch my eye from your user gallery, as I was browsing your work. I admit that I'm rather fond of ravens to start with, but this piece is good! Nice use of environmental imagery to practise with - I prefer not to see artists stick with copying other people's work, but I can see why you'd want to try your hand at this piece -- and it's really nicely rendered. :) I'd love to learn more about some of the techniques you're using. :) |

Here's a little survey I made while being bored with slow-going lineart on my new drawing. If\when you take it, and you think some areas are lesser than others, try and improve them, even if it's only one picture at a time. The 'how many' questions, you can answer with 'yes' or 'no', and then maybe a reason if 'no'. 1. How many of you sketch out your drawing first? 2. If you want anatomy corrections (dunno if you were really going for accuracy) the last few ribs are connected to the sternum indirectly, with cartilage. And now I feel bad for nickpicking. >_<Anyway. Kickass pic. *drools over it* Looks very painful. o_o
