Comments and critique welcome.Just some girl I thought up. The hair was fun. The eyes still don't line up right. I may or may not fix that later. : /
DeadlyBlondeArcher (edited Jan 7, 2006)
I like this, the pose and the sketchiness of it. I like the way the lines kind of seem to flow in the same direction, like they were all wind blown or something. (I think the eyes are fine) |

I used to be deathly afraid of drawing anything even remotely nude, so this is my first time even attempting it. Honest criticism is most needed/wanted. <3Kind of cheaped out on the background.
And the timer's about an hour off, total.
Queen_Asheer5600 (Oct 3, 2005)
For a first attempt at drawing a nude your got it down pretty nicely. Although my own crit would be that the breasts would be sagging down more, if a female is laying on their side (Without support that is) then the breasts would sag down ever so slightly (Basically they will be lowered down towards the floor). I haven't been drawing nudes for very long (Traditionally not CGed) so I am still new to them myself but thats the only hint I can give so far.
cartoon_worldz (Oct 3, 2005)
not really look at the shoulder its upwards so it would stretch the breast upwards and as for the lower one its not not gonna sag because of the upper shoulder its correctly done if you want ill have my girl sammi pose like that naked and send u the pic! great draw here!

Three people. That are happy. ^_^ ...And that must remain unfinished, due to the limitd board space. *smacks forehead*

Lookin good so far. I like how you drew the noses. :o)Hrm... all the tools decided to stop working after a while, so I think it's time for bed. ^_^
I was rather distracted while working on it this time... Fixed Left's nose, added some hair. Still no defined gender for any of them, really...
Whee, skintones!

Because I rarely ever draw boys. And this particular one asked me to (ages ago, and I feel bad for taking so long).
sincity (Nov 28, 2004)
Don't do it if you don't like it. Go with what feels right. I think you did a fine job though.
davincipoppalag (Nov 28, 2004)
Faces are particularly hard, too. At least I think so. You did well.
emmamommalag (Nov 28, 2004)
It's very good, Jocelyn. I especially like the lips and eyes.I like the way this one turned out. I had to fix a couple things, but now I'm happy with it.

YAY!!! I just started scribbling, and he is what I ended up with. I'm sooooooo happeh! It is a cheap, skittish and undependable little tablet, but it works fine enough to draw for a bit. ^_________________^

I'm not finished, but she looks pretty spiffy right now... I've got to go have lunch, so I'l come back later.Edit: There! Now, ain't she pretty? i know she's small, but i plan on drawing a big dragon next, so this was just for fun.
strangeoid (edited Aug 18, 2003)
Turtlebuster, i did shade her, but she's so small that you cant really notice it. I suppose that she could use more, though. Oh, and I don't care if the background matches. I was just drawing, not sending in a sketch to the historical society or anything. I could draw somebody who actually LOOKS medieval, but maybe later.
alwaysLearning (Mar 5, 2004)
This is quite pretty, and though I do agree that there's a bit of difference in feel between the background and the foreground, to me it doesn't come across as being quite as extreme a difference as it apparently does to Turtlebuster. I particularly love what you've done with her hair!My one question is whether her right (farther) shoulder is a little high, or whether it's intended to suggest that she's picking up her skirts on that side, and that's why her shoulder is lifted a bit out of true? Either way I try to interpret it, her neckline seems a bit out of true on that side, and so I've been wondering what you intended. I've been trying to master poses similar to this one, and my eye for them seems better than my hands can execute so far, but I find it helpful to learn from others' work. As a result, I'm particularly interested in details of the pose, and how to make it convincing to the eye, that's why I ask. Regardless of the answer, I still think she's quite pretty and eyecatching -- she really stands out, even at this small size and amid the assortment of other pictures in this portion of your gallery. <smile> I'm browsing through your pictures in chronological order, to see how you got to your present skill level, and seeing your earlier works is encouraging -- it gives me hope that with practise, my own work will likewise progress in skill, from the "merely pretty" (no insult intended) to the "truly stunning", as yours has. <smile>

See, this girl would fit my castle in the red princess' picture. I have to go to bed now, so I'l finish her later.... how do you spell rennaissance, anyway? .... Edit: She now has a face and hair

Awww i love it! gorgous, all it needs is a bg!! aww i cant wait!
alwaysLearning (Mar 5, 2004)
This is pretty! It rather reminds me of the Elizabethan Barmaid I'm working on at the moment, actually, I was kind of surprised to see another piece here so similar in appearance. <smile>By the by -- in answer to your question, it's spelled "renaissance", meaning "rebirth" (which is how I remember not to double the "n", because it's re-naissance, if you break the word down into its component parts). And, not to be picky, but the costume isn't renaissance in style -- that would be more like your classic "Romeo & Juliet" style of clothing. This dress style is more like those from about 100 years later, at least; but it's well executed, which is what matters -- <smile> -- not a slip of the tongue in labelling the era. And yes, I know the style of dress is common at "Renaissance Faires", but they usually include a mixture of historical eras in their costuming, etc., which I think confuses people. <wry chuckle> |
