Watercolor Magic

Today we had our first colored watercolor activity and I had so much fun!
We did rocks and lots of other still-life paintings.
It was hard for me to get used to a water medium since I was used to a oil and pastel ones ^^
Anyway...This was supposed to be an animated version of me (with my poor hairstyle)
I try to imagince that that drawings come to life since water gives life. XD I know it sounds cheesy XP
The brush I was using was a bamboo one cos i don't have watercolor brushes from before.

finished! i know the bg is kinda dull but i didn't know what else to use :(
Anyway, I think I should work on contrasting the colors A LOT!
I think I got confused with the lighting...

Well I have to say your better at semi solid shading than I am. Just look around and you'll find plenty of examples of solid shading. This came out pretty, love the red jacket, the flower and the swirlies. I never would have thought green for the fairy. I think you did good kokumi.

The colouring is so vibrant yet soft. I love the coloring on Flareon especially.
I just noticed that Vaporeon's head looks a tad squashed, but it's minor and this is still super.

I wish solids were more my game but they aren't so Im gonna practice and try to get the feel of it and also learn how to draw clothes with random fun added to 'em. I just got three kitties but the wait has begun and the mother is taking care of them, we're keeping the orange one cause orange cats are awesome.

Hehe, cute picture here :). I think those tin cans are just trying to spare the lives of their friend fishies, you know, sacrificing themselves instead.

By the way, while I'm here, I should probably also mention that I found that I haven't returned that book to you. I thought I did, but it was amongst the pile of stuff on my desk lol. Remind me to return it to you the next time you visit! Otherwise, it'll forever be a part of the modern art piece I got going with all the other stuff it's sitting with :P.

this is cute :) My one fishing attempt was scary.. my son was trying to show me what to do, and I was casting my line into the water and I hooked my son's cheek! :/ Haven't tried again since.

I kept meaning to comment on this but forgot. It's really a sweet picture and makes you think about how much junk is thrown into our waters. She looks so sad. If she get's enough though she can take them to the nearest recycling depot and get her money back for the amount she spent on the worms, plus. :D

Just do a plain pink background (blend in a couple variations of it if you want). Sometimes simple is good.
