the sword was difficult. it is supposed to be..um..at the same angle as the handle. i guess you could say its parallel to the handle, but stuck in it. suggestions? (even though i can't change it)
Gigandas (Mar 10, 2004)
Yeah, I saw that too, Marcello. But I figured someone else would bring that up anyways, so I wouldn't bother mentioning it^^;.But other than that, I don't see any really obvious problems.
dixielandcutie (Mar 11, 2004)
oh very nice. i love the little 'bang' at the bottom. colors are awesome too. nice.
fleeting_memory (edited Mar 14, 2004)
I'm guessing Fantastic by Method_3 was your inspiration then? Haha this is very nice-the sword is a lil weird but I love the brightness of his red sash and the lil bit of green that contrasts the darker colors of his cloths and skin-the circles under his eyes make him look mad and tired-I would not want to get in his way

Umm. Bug?
Harmanye (Mar 12, 2004)
Everytime I edit the description of my picture, it says in my studio "Entry set unfinished (time) -7" ... Anything I can do about this? It took me awhile to realize because the first two times I edited I didn't check my studio, then I did the third time (because I check my user page and saw I was losing points) and it said I lost 7 points 3 times. To make sure I edited the picture again, and sure enough, -7 points. In case it makes a difference, I'm using Firebird 0.7, Windows XP

Shorter ears, smaller eyes, glasses. Other than that, I haven't changed much. I feel alot different, though.

Meloncholy. I'd write all about it, but that'd attract attention and what not. (Keepin' it to mah self.)

This artwork does not deserve to be in the Beginner's level. I love her eyes. I hate her hair, it's so perfect. The green ears are a little .... odd, but everything's just.... wow. I'm luvin it!

Did the mouse make you spend only 7 minutes? No.
Besides, Hakkai is a mouser (look her up, www.2draw.net/users/Hakkai

Just practicing slightly (~_^) more realistic female form.

Eheh. Yes, the timer is horribly wrong, I just didn't want to submit untiul I was finished, and then I got sidetracked 0_0

I hope it's alright for Intermediate, I wanted a larger canvas size, so I couldn't put it on the beginner board ^^;

It appears as though her master has told her to sweep the dirt off the ground...

That's odd, in my studio it says this picture was set unfinished twice, 2 and 5 minutes after I submitted the finished version... which means a 14 point reduction. Most strange, because it says finished on the image page...
And again... Most odd.
Would it say by moderator if a moderator were doing it?

all disney did is slap their logo on the beginning and marketed. pixar actually did the work, so it's a pixar movie as far as I'm concerned.
lilypad (Mar 7, 2004)
hm...i agree with marcello. to tell the truth, only pixar movies put that little movie at the beginning, so anything else like that is just pixar. disney DID just put the logo there...just like they did in finding nemo and toy story. i'm not that sure about finding nemo, though...yeah, marcello's right...
Deformed (Mar 13, 2004)
But then there is the mstery of who WROTE the story. I mean, It could of been Disney. Ya' know what I mean? (I know marcello doesn't but everyone else.)
lilypad (Mar 13, 2004)
actually, maybe they did it together! disney wrote the story and pixar did the animation! it's the perfect set up to confuse young minds. although marcello must already be confused.

Oooh, more pictures of the home of my heart! You have a real gift for rendering this kind of scene, Cindy! :) There are two points that I have to question, though, for future reference (again, not that I could do this myself, but I can tell that these two points don't look quite right -- my eye being better at this than my hands, as yet, at least).

First, the ripples in the dry wash of the path seem to me to be too consistently angled, instead of following the curves of the path, the way I'd expect them to, if they were caused by water running over the mud during flood time (which is what I think of when I see that kind of image). They'd make more sense if there were a way for the water to have acted on the land outside of the path, the same way, but with the wall there, I'd expect the water to be restricted to the path more, and curve to follow it, during flash floods.

Second, the tufts of greenery on the bush don't seem to have a correlary set of darker areas, within the shadow of the bush, so it looks to me like the shadow is of a bush that doesn't have as much foliage on it as this one does.

These are both fairly minor points though, which I offer only in order to point out directions in which you can continue to work on advancing your work, which is already spectacular, and VERY evocative of the landscapes you've been painting. <smile> As you may be able to tell, what I've seen so far has been enough to spur me to go back through the pictures in your user board, in order to see more of these pieces! <grin> But even great artists can still grow, and I hope I've offered some useful suggestions for your consideration, here. :)
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Mar 13, 2004)
sure, always, I appreciate all the helpful suggestions. (Actually, it doesn't rain often where this was taken from and it's very windy, so I assume the ripples were caused by the wind since the sand changes rapidly - although the rain does a number on this wash when it does happen)

Kasha (Mar 12, 2004)
no silly, she just took a mean ass fart.....no really, she's just celebrating April 20th a lil early.
Zappo (Mar 12, 2004)
lmfao.....damn i wished i looked that sexay whenever i took mean ass farts....then ide always look sexy :)
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Mar 12, 2004)
This is really cool... the background has a sort of 60'ish look to it and I like the skin tones you used. And practice won't do it for some, Marcello, I could practice singing all day long and the coyotes would just start howling, or chemical engineering and just blow us all up... some ppl just got it and some don't.

I am really curious about something, and I thought this would be a good place to take a little survey on it... I have noticed (when I pay attention to it) that when doing anything "artsy", such as going to a museum, art gallery, openings, even playing drawing games, that the left-handed people generally outnumber the right-handed people. This would sort of confirm that we left handed people are in our right mind, which is the creative side of the brain. (Not to say, by any means, that there are...
