Done from the same ref as a really big traditional thing I'm working on for school. My art teacher says he disapproves of digital art. I say he can kiss my ass.
Satern (Feb 25, 2006)
what a strange thing for an art teacher to say :P (well not it isent really I had an Art teacher like that too but mneh thats why they are teaching innit ;)) Lovely picture wonderfull attention, you managed well to avoid the traps of either to much shade or to much light, the balance is very nice :)
suzie (Feb 25, 2006)
I love your shading, and the whole thing is so well finished. *kicks the teacher* :D
JoeNobody (Feb 26, 2006)
this one is very nice patience. You're right, don't listen to your art teach (about digital art), and you may have never heard it, but there's an old saying....."those who can do, those who can't teach" (no offense meant to the many great teachers out there who actually can "do")
Sweetcell (Feb 28, 2006)
Sad to say for a long while I was like your teacher, I always said computers took the heart out of art, but after graduating old school adv. art, only to find what you know obsolete because of the advent of computers, it makes one a bit bitter and stubbourne to accept it. But now I see the computer as just another tool, just another means to get my feelings across, and damn me if I don't do better stuff on it. At least with a computer if you make a mistake you can delete, try and do that on an ink drawing.So the man is probably an old school dog who refuses to learn new tricks, too bad for him, I've seen the gorgeous work done on this and others sites, and trying these appelets I can say it's as much work as using a canvas and mediums. Maybe he should try first, then he'd have the right to say what he thinks. And this, so beautiful and brilliant, proves that digital art can produse masterworks. The texture of her dress is amazing. It's a sad little picture though. Guesse I'm trying to say in 100 words or more is I love it. |

marcello (Feb 26, 2006)
no, no. this one isn't very good. the red lines are flimsy. it has potential though.

Reminds me of feathers you'd see on an Indian headress. You are just sooooo...... |

Something about this really caught my eye. It's very pretty, good job. : )
Axil62 (Feb 26, 2006)
thank you, I like this one too.
thesolarwinds (Feb 26, 2006)
simply stunning. like passion and anger mixed into this fire.
Sweetcell (edited Feb 28, 2006)
I see love, it's burning, bright as anger, or as deep as passion. You are so the guy.I had a dream long ago with Freddie Kruger as a math teacher on a space station. We were in the classroom and I couldn't get a problem (bad at math) so i called him over to help. He was bent over me going through the problem when I looked out of the large bay wall to wall windows and saw something coming towards the station from deep space. I asked him what it could be and the whole class ran up to the windows, Freddie then says "It's an invasion." I may have woken up, or the dream swithced, but it was something that stuck with me to this day. Since we're sharing. |

Wow!! That picture is soooo AWESOME!!!! You are SOO GOOOOD!!!! WOW! I'm gunna save this to my fav and show it to ALL my friends. Lol.<3<3
Sweetcell (Feb 28, 2006)
It's beautiful, it reminds me of 60's book cover art. Only pic is the little squiggly on her forehead, but I should talk, when I get to be as close to this I'll have more of a right to critique. |

I think it's garbage but I'm not 100% sure. Help me out here
Jervy (Feb 26, 2006)
The dodge and burn tools... If your work starts looking like you threw some photoshop filters on top of it or you rely on it to do your shading then you should ease up.I hate to say it but I think this one is borderline...still interesting to look at though.
sincity (Feb 26, 2006)
I dig it. That's all. Rightio Zack. :}
frootcake (Feb 27, 2006)
i saw it and knew it was you, but its not your usual standard. that could be just because you didn't use a ref? if you didn't then its pretty creative and stick at it dude, its about time you did a pic that was only 9/10
Sweetcell (edited Feb 28, 2006)
Oh my, I absolutely love this one. It's a new favorite of mine by you. If this was for sale I would by it. It's ethereal and speaks to me. Frankly the burn and dodge tools are used perfectly here. Truly Axil, a stunning piece.Just edited to add that this piece feels almost religious to me. Say portraying a modern day saint or apostle. |

inspired by potter Tom Richardson.
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Feb 27, 2006)
In galleries I have seen numerous vessels in pottery or sculptures of the female form, and they are usually exaggerating one feature or another, which I think is what makes them interesting works of art.
Miss_DJ (Feb 28, 2006)
good points, pun intended...lol (and thanks DBA!)

very nice job love it but seemed the nipples are pressed against a glass, not trying 2 be critical cause its amazing!
Miss_DJ (Feb 28, 2006)
thanks Pinkish! Great critique! I hadn't noticed that but it's very true! Thanks for the observation and I sure appreciate that you like the piece. |

Omg I love how this came out. Seiya Kou (From Sailor Stars last season of Sailor Moon) is looking really good in front of that background! And I'm so glad the background came out looking how I wanted it, it looks lovely *dreamy eyes* I tried my best to make the line-art smooth ^.^ Please comment!Thanks ulfo for letting me know he needed more hair. I actually thought that before I had uploaded it, but I had been up all night and was rather inclined to fall asleep than to put more hair on his head. It looks much better now! ^-^ I also forgot to color his earring @.@;;; hehe And uflo next time please state what you also liked in the picture otherwise I think it was a botched picture ^.^;;;;
clowangel (Feb 28, 2006)
It's pretty cool. Proportioning of the hair and face is a little off though. I love the eyes and the background came out pretty well except for the flowers. O_o; The flowers can use a little work.
kristine (Feb 28, 2006)
hehe...a little...hehe...*sigh* The hair again...I swear he better have enough this time @.@;;;
