I went to the optomitrist and he said my eyes have gotten worse AGAIN... at this rate I'll be blind by the time I'm 20 :'(

I cannot decide if this is a manly woman or a womanly man... or maybe just gender neutral.

That sphere thing is so pretty. And I like the colors you used overall. :)
Sweetcell (Apr 15, 2006)
This came out beautifully, the sphere, the tatoo's, the hair, and the bracelet. Wonderful.
patienceisoverrated (Apr 15, 2006)
thanks so much. It's nice to read those sorts of comments :) <3 <3

The colours are funny 'cause I did the majority of the colouring on a laptop, then I saw it on my good monitor right now and was like 'whoa, the brightness'

I don;t think Zack was telling you NOT to crit. art ^^; I think he was defending Zep's art, I LOVE Zeps art, the reason you can tell it's his art, is because his unique style, it's not the same thing over and over again, it's always something different, just i don't know, like like buying a brand of clothes, a certain fashion designer you like alot, you buy it because you like the style, the style stays simliar, but it changes too. the style is unique.
Zack (Apr 18, 2006)
Don't be that way. I don't want people to feel too intimidated to criticize popular artists, and I applaud your courage. But my original comment was only about pointing out something I thought was very ironic, and since then it's like you've been determined to make an enemy of me.

Maybe Zep could use more diversity. I'm not asking you to like his art, and it's fine that you don't. Everyone has different tastes. The reason I gave that critique of your work is because I don't think Zep's work is any more repetitive than yours and I wanted to show why I thought so.
xiau (Apr 18, 2006)
After reading all of the above comments, I realize I need to work on making my pictures more diverse. I just took a look in my gallery and it's boring.

Anyways, getting back to the subject... Amazing picture, Zep. Lascaux seems to like you alot. I love the smooth colors and shading, and I like the way it looks like he's thinking about something. I adore your artwork :)

Alright I understand. My apologies if I got a little edgy, it wasn't my intention. :/

Nice color choice, I like it!

Just keep telling me i suck and It will make me mad then I will draw something really good out of spite.
Or you could name some good art schools.
I need to draw more women.
I use to draw them all the time but I would get in trouble at school all the time so i stopped.
So you could yell at me and tell me to draw women.

I would also like to start a comic, but I never have time:(

I also need to draw more backgrounds.

Or you could draw something really cool then tell me i'll never be able to draw better than you, that should help.
Deino (Apr 16, 2006)
Wait, they scold you for drawing women? You should have told them that it is art!
I wish I could go to an art school...
comd (edited Apr 16, 2006)
I like it too. It really pops out in the thumbnail, and it's an interesting picture up close. There's like a counterpose going between the lips and eyes: a natural curve like a human spine (only in the face).

I don't think it's good to draw out of spite. It kills the enjoyment - you'll be determined to achieve some specific kind of end result, and if you don't reach your goal, you might fail to realize what you already have going, and more importantly, you probably won't enjoy the journey as much. I've been prone to that sort of 'end result' mentality from time to time, and I'm trying to quit that and enjoy what I'm currently doing more. I think it's a whole lot less stressful to work that way, and the results will come to you with time. Just keep it fun, and you won't notice the amount of work you can just enjoy the ride.

I think the most valuable lesson I've learned lately is to just not care so much for something that I'm not willing to change it. It's a lot easier to experiment with different ideas, poses, feature placement, etc. in digital, and one should exploit that ability when practical.

Trying to draw some figures without a reference as practice before I attempt to correct that guy on the left in the previous drawing. I'm kind of screwed with the previous drawing since I drew the figures based off a reference (loosely, but still with a lot of aid when it came to proportions, anatomical detail, perspective, etc.). If I'm going to draw my own figure in there, I'm going to have to try really hard to convincingly make it blend in with the other two figures without making my own figure look like a badly drawn cartoon.

It's been a while since I've attempted to construct a full figure without looking at anything - I've gotten pretty rusty, but I think I've improved at least on the feet a little after all the anatomy practice I've been doing (I realize the ones in this one aren't too great, but for me, they are an improvement). Feet have always been one of the hardest things to draw for me since they have to be planted firmly on the ground in perspective, and that's one of the parts where I can't really fake the perspective as a result (and I have a really hard time constructing any sort of organic form in perspective without some sort of reference).

I was originally planning to save this one and delete it as with the majority of my quick practice drawings, but this one didn't turn out too badly. I might keep it around for a while and see if I can refine it a bit.

This was good practice.
I was going to just play around with it and make it look crazy, but Zack ask me to finish it.

I'll draw something good at a later date when I feel like It.

I like this. Depending on how I look at it I can see the person with a big collar or three ghost-like figures rushing toward something in the middle.
