yep- 53 secs - but it was a quick sketch...
furyofroy (Jan 10, 2004)
Wow. This is so good it's abnormal. 53 seconds is inhuman for this.
Fin_beast (Jan 10, 2004)
Shit... *raises eyebrows*
LOL....
I thought you had reset the counter to make yourself look really good....
Congrats! :)

I had to comment on this one, saw it while reading the forums. GREAT PIECE....I like it, simply because I am a big fan of Dennis Mukai's work, and this evokes his style nicely.
LOL...and if it was unintentional, you need to look him up on google, and look at his stuff.

Just some chick from a medieval type period in time, I think, with spiffy hair... And, I didn't spend that long, I had to go save my burning toast. >_<

This is magnificent. The style is SO wonderful even if it's not original...the blues and purples rock my world

a quick sketch - I wanted to edit the image - but I had reached the 200kb limit?

the beginner board has a low file size limit to keep the number of revisions/edits down, I suggest posting in the intermediate board if you plan to put multiple edits into a file.
furyofroy (Jan 9, 2004)
Wicked. :) Incredibly cool.
cmb (Jan 10, 2004)
Thank you Marcello for the information- I will do a couple more here- then look at intermediate. I want to be good enough so that I fit in with the other artists here. I had done the whole image without editing- it was my first attempt to edit it- but since I draw freehand does that affect the amount of work I can do on the images?
marcello (Jan 10, 2004)
A number of things will affect the size of the file, the canvas size, the number of layers, number of colors, number of solid colors vs individual. On lascaux, all the layers are saved in a lossless format, so each layer adds to the size (you can merge layers to reduce size a bit)

whuts a tablet???? nice pic tho. u shouldnt start other pics with out finishing some. it gets to be a hassle.
Knockoff (Dec 27, 2003)
Ah a tablet.
It a device with a screen and a pen.
Makes it easier to draw, or not?
cmb (Jan 10, 2004)
I use a wacom graphic tablet because I had my wrists operated on for carpal tunnel syndrome a few years ago, and yes a graphic pen is easier- and more controllable - than a mouse. However I do not believe its "cheating" as some people think- its just using a different technique, in the same way that a pencil is different but neither superior or inferior to a brush. Eventually all you want to do is create marks. Graphics tablets can be cheap too. my first was very small and cost me 40 pounds (english money} then I got a second hand wacom. I still do some mouse drawing- but its very annoying when my wrist starts hurting and cramps up- so I usually use a tablet- from the style I assume that yes, this may be a tablet drawing, well done to the artist for provoking discussion on the subject.
