i'm not exactly sure why it works, i think it was something like, your mind works like a camera, so when you look at it and your eye shifts its vision to (or just focuses on) another portion of the image, your mind tries to smoothly transition from the image of 'your first glance' and the image of 'your second glance'. thus, the image moves to the side, but the circular arrangement of the dots makes them appear to rotate, rather than merely shift.
but, like i said, i'm not really sure :l

method3 (edited Jun 13, 2004)
Advanced board review will take place Wednesday June 9th, 2004! Due to recent lack of stringent moderation, the advanced board will undergo review starting Wednesday, June 9th. The board will be reviewed with these steps: - Unfinished pieces will not be reviewed unless older than 1 month. - Every piece strictly under 2 h...

I presume this is a reflection? We have done this in life class... her expression is pained as if the pose was difficult to hold- and yet i also see it as two seperate figures- perhaps identical twins, sharing some secret they cannot speak about!
davincipoppalag (Jun 2, 2004)
These are two New York City mannequins in a storeroom at Nordstern's waiting to be dressed with the newest fashions and placed in the window with perfectly coifed wigs.
julietjuniper (Dec 13, 2005)
i suppose this is a reflection. if so, i like how the reflection and the woman herself are both looking towards the spectator, it's eerie and so not right. so creepy! i love it.
kejoco (Dec 13, 2005)
Thanks...it was a reflection
I would do a much better job on this now then I did

this is niiiice, love the color used
two-na (edited Jun 1, 2004)
hey you used hard edges here, look at that
that's a good job, the affects of light

it would also make sense to put greeni n there with the yellow, too
davincipoppalag (Jun 2, 2004)
Yes cmb! That was the impression I got too. The Pop-Art look. I like this piece quintessence , the colors give it an interest it might not otherwise have. Well done.

DMV (Jun 2, 2004)
About the shiney thing Anna ,you have to adjust the opacity and as far as the 3D look ...it's all about shading:)
Thanks all.
Anna (Jun 2, 2004)
Okey dokey... I guess I didn't have it low enough :) Thanks for the tip

Great job again, as usual. The face has wonderful character and the colors are terrific. Were the tools doing crazy stuff? Some others told me they had some trouble too.
cmb (Jun 1, 2004)
I always think your work is so strong!
zep (Jun 1, 2004)
thanks a lot everybody...hi c what´s up??
DinoFlorist (Jun 1, 2004)
This one is especially nice because of the coloring. I would rather hang this one on my wall than the last one I said, but I would do so with all of the drawings you have done.

clock dem hoes! hehehe no don't clock dem hoes!~~~
this reminds me of oekaki-shi because it's all fuzzy and cool
ShadowKitten (Jun 2, 2004)
i think its cool how the clock is emphasized because the background is blurry
Kasha (edited Jun 2, 2004)
cool, where exactly is this at? I've seen one in Houston at Bank Of America in downtown. I used to see it all the time when I would wait for my mom to get out of the elevators. Except the one in the bank has this lil door in the base of it and I would always imagine a lil goblin makes the clock go tick tock. Nice work. :D
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Jun 2, 2004)
This one is in Houston in The Plaza. There is a door in the back of it and there is an oil refinery grease monkey monster that operates the clock. lol

Some of my other art
cmb (May 31, 2004)
As a NON DIGITAL artist ( ie I tend to usually paint and draw rather than seriously working on digital art) I thought I would post my main page- there are various links on it- notably to Youdraw - my main haunt while on the internet. It might give more of an idea of me "as a whole" ( no pun intended. ) Anyway I wouldnt recommend absolute arts- there are too many people there to get noticed... but its worth a look at... Seriously though I really like 2 draw now im getting used to it... I just wis...
