Love the blues in this. It does have an air of indifference. This whole series is great
clover_pocky (Jul 22, 2007)
Oooh, Klox, this one is definitely my favourite. I'm in love with the blue.
Sweetcell (Jul 22, 2007)

A night sky complete with clouds, stars, the sky, and moon, carefully placed, blurred, and replaced to find the most realistic appearance. I'm pretty proud of it, concidering my tablet is broken.

This took 30 minutes? Interesting.
MelissaMissy (Jul 22, 2007)
I agree with all of these comments, this is a nice peice, beautiful but i cant beleive it took 30 minutes, its lovely but not spectacular.
clover_pocky (Jul 22, 2007)
This is actually pretty interesting, my laptop monitor's screen is adjusted too bright and I can see the contrasts. I do very much like this, and it's very simple. With all the mad colour flying around, it's nice to see something like this. However, the moon is backwards.

I feel like I'm staring up into the midnight sky out in the country.

The above commenter has left a lot of, "boring and not my thing." I hate to be a troll, but it doesn't seem like she likes much of anything anyone does. *ducks*
Sweetcell (Jul 22, 2007)
Well this is interesting, the moon is ok, but this isn't intermediate. Please start in begginers to get to know how the tools work before you work your way to this board.

BARF.

This took too long for what it actually is, lol. Contrast in the skin is off, but I'm happy with the basic character concept and the hand made me want to shoot babies, but all in all, I just needed a quick composition... which turned out to be a several hour long thing. Anyway. I'm doing a series of how this character evolved over time. This would be the first incarnation, who went under all of those names in the title. She was my first RPing character - on AOL in a Star Wars chatroom, lol. I was seven when I first came up with her, so the concept is a touch cliche, but I'll shut up now. First in what will be a long, long series, hopefully. :)

PS (Jul 16, 2007)
The hand is really nice.
Sweetcell (Jul 16, 2007)
Boy, that name makes scrolling difficult.

This is nice, the left eye is too small and slanted though in comparison to her right. If you raised it up and widen it (not lengthen) and make her eye ball more visible than the little amount we see it wouldn't look so strange, and widen and lengthen her lips. Basic facial anatomy is using an upside down triangle. The corners of the eye would rest at the corner of the base of the triangle and the tip would rest in the middle of the bottom lip. The corners of the lip would lie under the middle of the eye's (maybe more or less but it wouldn't stray far from that basic composition) Even at half the angle the premise is the same. his is good don't get me wrong, just some adjustments would make it great.
The hand is good, just a little large. The wrist bone wouldn't be so far from the hand and stick out so much. Her shoulder is very boney as well, it should be rounder. I love the hair though, great hair.
clover_pocky (Jul 16, 2007)
Sweetcell, you have just totally made my day.
Thank you -so- much for pointing all that out, I'm absolutely serious, I couldn't figure out why it looked wrong!

<3 <3 Thank you!

This is just all kinds of beautiful, from her glistening skin, to the swirlies (we all love swirlies) to her mole/3rd eye? on her forehead. The lighting, her contemplative sad expression, all lovely. The right side of her lips look smaller and swoop down more than the left side, but it's a quibble. Yes indeed do make more.

It's been raining so bad here it barely has time to warm up, when it does the humidity goes through the roof causing intense heat waves, which causes more rain, which have lead to tornado's. Hope you don't go through that mess Roy.
clover_pocky (Jul 16, 2007)
Lighting! Ohmygoodnesslighting! Lightinglighting!!

*twirl*

So pretty, how do you get your skin tone to be so even?
Roytje (Jul 16, 2007)
No, we don't have tornado's. We only have alot of rain and lightnings :)
Thanks for the comments! :)

Why thank you DK, frankly his face is a little off (his nose was driving me bonkers) but I didn't want to spend an uber amount of time on it.

Excellent! Love the colors! Hope to see a lot more of your work here, I like your style.

Late in commenting, just catching up now. So nice for a first piece, reallt wonderful. It's a treat to have newcomer's with this kind of talent. I agree on the red (you used more a fire engine red that a cherry, I noticed that's what makes this particularly nice on the eyes) and flutterbyes, we all love flutterbyes. Hope you stick around. We can be crazy weird here sometimes, but you'll find overall we're a great community.
Very much Welcome Knuffellutje.

For some reason it reminds me a of the rusted cityscapes of new york - you know, fire escapes, that kind of stuff? Like looking down into a dilapidated metropolis.

Maybe not, but I wanted to say dilapidated metropolis.

No, really, it does. ;)

I really admire your use of color, it's always fascinating to see what you'll put together.
davincipoppalag (Jul 15, 2007)
You got some trippy stuff goin on here lately ...cool
Sweetcell (Jul 16, 2007)
This looks like the inside of an Art Deco hotel lobby. Large frosted glass doors with the sweeping lines classic to Art Deco decore with round stairs leading to a sunken lobby floor with a glass bottom. If this place were real, I would want to stay there. One of my fave's.
