shes wondering which piece got deleted and why it was ten points taken off when it was only a 5 point piece lol. i really wish when theres an unusual situation like that and double points are taken off the mod could take a sec to explain why. i understand u folks dont have all the timein the world but hey, if i earn 5 points, and its deleted and i lose 5 points, i understand, but i lost ten and id like to have known why.
marcello (Feb 3, 2004)
Time for lesson on points!!!Ok, first, you submit something as unfinished, you get NO points!! wooO! Now, you set it to finished, and woo you get points!!! woo!!! 5 on beginner!!! Ok now someone deletes it, not only do you lose the 5 points you got, but 5 more points to remind you to follow the rules. So that's losing 10 points, but only 5 more than you originally had. But wait, what if it was deleted before it was set to finished? You never got 5 points in the first place, so you don't lose those 5, you just lose 5 points to remind you to follow the rules. So, you depending how many points you got for submitting the picture will affect how many you lose. If it was unfinished, you never got any.
brushes4 (edited Feb 3, 2004)
well now...that sucks lol. i fully understand the system points now..thanks marcello, and my apologies to Merulotte, u were right i was wrong... i STILL think reasons should be given for deletions tho lol..i know i know i'll shut up about it now :O)
marcello (Feb 3, 2004)
In general the reason is "spend more time on your drawing" or "put more (obvious) effort into your drawing"In this case I'd probably say something like "don't use the freaking texture tools they make a picture look crap" ok it was a crappy statementnow its mundane rainbow lace

I figured I might as well comment on this, after all I am a mod and am entitled to my say when someone has a problem with us (the mods). First of all, I would like to say that 2draw is one of the best open communities for beginning artists! I mean, a lot of beginners can post their stuff here, the beginner boards has, of this moment 6,579 entries!!! Compare this with 4,279 intermediate entries, and 124 advanced entries! We really do keep a ton of beginner work, and now I hope you will appreciate the fact that we have rules in place that will allow us to filter out at least the worst of the beginner pictures.Deleting my posts just because I can't draw that good.So please, if you wish to debate over a deleted picture, DO NOT USE THIS EXCUSE. If your entry is deleted, it has violated our rules and therefore is not a matter of a moderator's personally vendetta against you and your artwork (unless it is, in which case marcello hates you). One more thing... why should we appreciate the fact that someone (you) made the effort? You might not realize that every single person that posts here makes the same effort, if not more, to get their pieces done. So good job... you don't deserve more than the rest of us.
Tylop2 (Feb 1, 2004)
Wow...I browse back a few pages, and look what I find....trouble in paradise. o.o;;
emerald_star18 (Feb 2, 2004)
oh no, you have to use a tou(h pad *rolls her eyes* i use one too, infa(t i find it easier then using a mouse, so no e><(use & grow up..... (hehe broken keyboard.........)
brushes4 (Feb 2, 2004)
er....is there anyone who hasn t had a pic deleted, or constructively critiqued? a few weeks ago a small pic i poured my heart and soul into, and which was intended for my daughter was deleted...mildly ticked..of course but hey rules is rules. i think a quick explanation of why the piece ws removed is needed but as i was told when i complained (DISCREETLY) so many entries, so few moderators and so little time, its not always possible... so dude? go sit in the corner for swearing, then come back and play nice! |

ky (Jan 29, 2004)
I like that... person. I like how their face is revealed and such. Judging by the background, I am assuming it is a woman in Iraq, or of that sort, in which the religion states she must cover herself up to men? O_o Or something?
brushes4 (Jan 30, 2004)
very unnerving, and beautiful, and sad, i'd love to know what u were thinking when working on this. to be honest i liked it better witht eh crscentstar on the mosqe but thats just me.. her face is so haunting and haunted. beautiful piece zappo.
MunkyPoo4u (Jan 30, 2004)
your a Hack! a Hack I say! most of your work isn't even orginal they're based on modest mouse songs and death cab for cutie, and movies you watched! for shame to try to pass them off as orginal thoughts! someone should drag you out into the middle of the street and have you shot. P.S. see you at zane's house and don't forget to bring my movies dude. and im soooo gonna kick your ass at call of duty. laterz your friend Munky
mazi (Jan 30, 2004)

"So many wrong decisions in my past, I'm not quite sure if I could ever hope to trust my judgment anymore. But lately I've been thinking, because it's all I've had to do. And in my heart I feel that I should give this child to you. And maybe you can tell your baby when you love him so that he's been loved before by someone who delivered your son from God's arms to my arms to yours. And if you choose to tell him and if he wants to know how the one who gave him life could bear to let him go, just tell him there was sleepless nights I prayed and paced the floor and knew the only peace I'd find is if this child was yours." --a young mother any suggestions? i'd love to hear them... okay, worked on the eyes and arms a little...still a little weird tho, *sigh* i wish i could make it better...ill try again later.
gothamgirl (Jan 29, 2004)
I love it. The poem makes me cry and the picture really captures it. Great work!
brushes4 (edited Jan 30, 2004)
as someone who has been on both sides of that poem, i found it very comforting, your picture glows with the love a mother feels knowing she made the right decison, its very soft and warm, yet the small important things like her tears, her eyes and the babies face are finer, more detailed. beautiful piece dixie :O) i also love how the image is like a page torn from her life, not to throw it away but to tuck it safely in her heart.okay, i think im gonna stop before i overdo it...hope this is ok...if you have any further suggestions, please let me know...thanks

I kinda remember the 70's.... some of it's kinda fuzzy, tho. lol Great likeness.
concannon (Jan 24, 2004)
Excuse my idiocy, I'm only 14, but I'm gonna guess David Bowie. That sexy man. And no, I don't remember the 70's. If somehow I did, I'd be rather worried for my mental state.
jord (edited Jan 24, 2004)
