Same thing as what I just said to unicorn, it's something that's a good habbit to get into to write even a brief statement with your work. If you don't care enough to say anything about it, why should we care enough to look at it? |

Mind giving us a little description? One sentence or a phrase even? Eventually you'll be writting artist statements with your work if you decide to put anything in a show, and it's good practice to start now.

This is a very soulful piece. I am haunted by the reflection of death but it is contrasted by the beauty of life. I believe this piece shows a schism in the artist, who feels conflicted about something and may not know where to turn. Good job expressing your feelings through art.

Since you posted this on the advance board I'm going to be honest and more blunt than normal when I comment. The shading on the face is nice, it's a pretty good sense of skin tones, but that's really the best part that I'm seeing. I don't think that the ragged outlines suite the soft shading at all and they don't really compliment his form either. The highlights in the hair need to be completely redone in my opinion since they look way too quickly made. Normally you can tell what part someone spent the most time on and what they spent the least time on, and those highlights are by far the most rushed thing here. I think that problem is made more obvious just by them being so close to the shading on the face which looks like you spent much more time on. Personally I don't think this is will be finished until you put as much effort as you did on the face into everything else as well.

Neat title. Nice blend of colors. No one wants to be just a cover page, what matters more is what's in the book. lol Well, maybe I shouldn't be saying that lol since I'm not such a bookworm myself but, but, figuratively speaking. lol You know the whole proverb. lol Anyhow, neat art. The colors are very moody.

When you write descriptions you should tell us things like what motivated you, what your feelings were, or anything really besides a series of dots or similar things. Anyways, for some reason this picture reminds me of Zelda, Ocarina of Time, when you could look off toward death mountain and watch the sun and moon rise. It's very peaceful.

I think the cave edges should be less blurred, but avoid making them look jagged. A hard, smooth edge should make it look more like it's in the foreground and closer to us than the woman.

Looks a lot like the mountains we have here. Actually in a way, and you may or may not like this, it reminds me of the mountains Bob Ross would make because of the way you textured the snow onto it. |
