This cuaght my eye immediately. I'm very suprized i've never seen it before now.
Definely an eye cetching picture.
KGH (Feb 20, 2008)
I think this is the most realistic drawing/painting I have ever seen. The skin is amazing.
Kloxboy (Feb 20, 2008)
KGH: You need to see more art then. This is a good piece but it's not superior or even that interesting, imo. This is more of a reflection of another artists perspective (the original photographer), opposed to being a true, unique connection with the subject matter. The girl who painted this piece was more of a "spectator" than an artist, at least from what I knew about her. Some people think they can just dabble in anything, come and go as they please but in the end, they'll never truly gain anything from the expereince. True expression takes dedication, understanding and sacrifice, I don't see any of those qualities here.

Hi Gemmy!! LTNS!! Am looking thru your gallery now and am blown away!! YouDraw has died a slow and paintful death basically and many of us are over at sketchfu.com. Its a very fun site., The drawing tools are not as good as the ones here but still good enough to do complicated draws. I do miss a lot of my YD friends who are over here. I'll stop by from time to time.

This draw is magnificent!! Very impressed.

Yay! you finished now I can comment...I love how you lightened up her hair and clothes it really makes her blue eyes pop out. She is beautiful
Sweetcell (Sep 6, 2006)
This is nicely done. Profiles can be hard but you did hers well. It's silly but I'm loving how you made the cloth near the armpit look likes it's not simply resting there but there's a space between the cloth and the skin. Very subtle and well done that.
KuteDymples (Sep 7, 2006)
Sweetcell, I had changed that spot, originally it looked terrible and it bothered me. I was happy with it too. :-) I have an easier time with profiles than the full face for some reason, I am trying one right now of Angelina and I can't get her face right to save my life. But I am not giving up, hopefully you will see that here soon as well. and Wittle Fawah, her hair was very hard, actually I believe I lightened it too much, but by the time I was done with it, I was afraid to change it anymore. Thank you both for your nice comments.

I had one of those growing up (but I can't remember if it was Anne or Andy) And I still have a childrens book from the 80's. Thanks for the memories Kute. :)
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Sep 13, 2006)
Raggedy Ann! :) I loved the book, and my Raggedy Ann doll was one of my favorites, although I put her through way more hell than Marcella did in the stories...my Alaskan Simoan dog Snow White ripped my Raggedy Ann's head off in the end. I think we should start calling Marcello "Marcella"... it's much closer to home. :D

I'm glad you did this picture, it brought back lots of funny memories, and you did such a cute job in depicting them.
KuteDymples (Sep 14, 2006)
Thanks everyone for the great comments on these, I guess they are just "Old Favorites" of a lot of people. Actually I do paint a lot of childrens characters for pay but on canvas I do much better than on the net. I am really not half as good as I would like to be. I have painted so many Winnie the Pooh pictures I have grown not to like "The Pooh" much. LOL My favorite childrens characters to paint is Disney, Mickey and Minnie. I just love them and could never paint them enough.

LOL!!! This is sooo true!! I love to dance, but only after a glass of 'liquid courage'...or two, or three. Good imagery!

Both of the revisions are really good. The depth in this one, not just from the background but, from the face and everything in the bird is really cool. Almost feels alive.

Thanks Aubs... I posted the one I finished in another program on DA..basically refined this last one with shi-painter pro

Thanks for the critique, Axil. I appreciate you putting your time in to look at my art. I probably won't fix it, but now I noticed a few things that I should have realized while I was drawing it.
As for the "downplay", I don't know if you noticed, but the original drawing on here was about six minutes. I think that could be called a doodle. I was just too lazy to change the name. So CALM DOWN. :)

It's been a long time since i put effort into a pic.
It feels good to try a little.
This is good but It is a far cry from what i'm capable of drawing.
I plan to put more effort into my drawings.

Used a King Kong ref, but I changed it around alot.

WOAH MY GOD! THIS IS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If i needed to design my house, i would have you design my house, KING KONG STYLE! that would be awesome, huh?
TaCO (Dec 30, 2005)
Well I'm a draftsman so I can draw house plans, but I don't know all the building codes.
I mess mostly with very expensive giant machines.
