Listening to the engineering boys wake up.

Do you ever notice that when you don't go to sleep everything is orange?

I've never experienced such thing. It must be cool, because orange is cool, or warm rather.
LisaAnne (May 11, 2006)
I have a history of insomnia, but I never see orange...perhaps its an individual thing.
This deffinately gives me a VanGogh vibe though, and he liked to use yellow/orange as well. It also reminds me of a short story called The Yellow Wall Paper by Charlotte Perkins Gillman. I love the pastel like strokes you have in the hand and shirt. Very nice.

Beautiful face!!!!
I like the toes!!!
SYTHE (May 12, 2006)
I can turn my head like that.... but then I can't feel my legs. She has a sneeky look in her eyes like she's going to doo something naughty. Another hot piece from an acceptional artist.

You should do more on the grayscale... I like this.
Kloxboy (edited May 8, 2006)
This is weird...the proportions are off, even for the style. I think you could have spent more time on this too. :/

Cloxboy: Whatever, I'd like to see you do better!
DeadlyBlondeArcher (May 8, 2006)
Nope, I like it just like it is.
(ok, fine, you suck) ;)

Really, the likeness to the actor is outstanding, and the color you used for the eyes fits perfectly

I think I see aspects of two faces and a skull. I would like you to spend more time on these too. Possibly continue what you started. From what I see you have the facial features in order (the yellow one would be the best indicator). I dont know how far you want to go with art, be it for doodling or serious rpactice... all I can recommend is what I do. Study traditional genres/techniques of art and practice, practice, practice. Many people can testify that there is nothing as important as this.

Just a word of advice, its not always best to ask people what they think. Some people on here can be assholes. Including myself.
marcello (May 8, 2006)
doesn't matter, the assholes might tell you whether you ask or not. ;)
LisaAnne (May 8, 2006)
Eh screw what they say, the best thing you can do is get honest feedback. I'm really excited to see your work progress, because you have ideas, and that's lacking on this board.
Just practice and your skill will come. (My work is not skillful or really inventive on here, but none the less that's how I feel)

cool idea!

plus i love that creamy orange color.
Kloxboy (May 7, 2006)
It is a figure but if you look at the thumbnail, it looks like a face. I guess I should have elaborated.
davincipoppalag (May 7, 2006)
I see a figure bent over forward, and I see a face, too.. really interesting one
LisaAnne (edited May 8, 2006)
Such a neat effect you having going on with this. The bent over humanoid is either pained or very interested in the ants that crawl on the ground and the world around him, but also fearful it seems. Then all of a sudden this aged face appears, and you must question what does life do to you, what does it teach you? What did this man see?
Pain coupled with an energetic orange.

The line work is very smooth, and the muscularity is pleasing.

Interesting my friend...

edit:

Also is he looking at his reflection on the ground? What surface is he on?

This truly caught my interest. Its very different. I'm not sure I get it exactly, and the style in which its done is also different. If you could provide some insight, I'd appreciate it.

staci (May 7, 2006)
delicious. the colors truly are edible..like some evil cotton candy or something. your usual sick meltyness paired with the muscle and bone definition is pretty freaktastic.
LisaAnne (May 8, 2006)
I'm glad you have varied up your color palette...it works extremely well for you in this piece. The colors remind me of sunset on a desert. The figure is strong and struggling...I love that you used alot of "verticle" lines...great movement. Keep up the great work.
HunterKiller_ (May 8, 2006)
This turned into something wonderful. What can i say... this is fucking great. *into the favourites folder*
