It didn't look this crappy before I submitted it. Damn airbrush. I suppose I could have done more, I just don't feel like working on it anymore.

i don`t think its the movement i like, but rather the technique in the brush strokes....the feel of actual paint onto a specific surface

This looks so realistic and beautiful. I can't really say what I like most about it, since everything is equally wonderful; I love it. ^__^

this looks like viscerals stuff. nice job
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Feb 26, 2006)
This is a strange but pleasing combination of things... It looks somewhat "animeish" but, then it has a very realistic, believable quality to it. I love the palette you used, and i really gotta have one of those peasant style/corset things she's wearing. sexy!
patienceisoverrated (Feb 27, 2006)
Thanks DBA... I admire your art a lot, so I like it that you like it.

I don't intentionally set out to draw anime, but there are a lot of things I like about it when it's done well, like long, curving lines and gravity-defying hair and clothing. But I can never bring myself to draw it because I can't get around the fact that if you're eyes were that big, your entire head would be taken up by eye socket and there'd be no place to put your brain.

Haha, kinda like how I think Ed, Edd, and Eddy will one day melt into slime due to their super wavy outlines.

He's making a new friend????
JoeNobody (Feb 26, 2006)
Gigandas, the inspiration for Larry came from a comment made HERE . From then on most of the episodes came from comments or just where I felt like taking him.

Of course he's just doing a classic figure study. There's no way he can get in trouble for that.......is there?
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Feb 26, 2006)
Larry's sketch is quite tasteful, although I'm sure his wife will try to deflate him again, anyway. I don't think I'll ever get tired of seeing what Larry will do next.
kejoco (Mar 1, 2006)
I think Gigandas is referring to a little sketch on seasame street.
The guy was part of a glass and had a theme song.

If there are no living people about do zombies attack each other? And if they do is that when it's considered cannibalism? Love it Derrick

Done from the same ref as a really big traditional thing I'm working on for school. My art teacher says he disapproves of digital art. I say he can kiss my ass.

what a strange thing for an art teacher to say :P (well not it isent really I had an Art teacher like that too but mneh thats why they are teaching innit ;))
Lovely picture wonderfull attention, you managed well to avoid the traps of either to much shade or to much light, the balance is very nice :)
suzie (Feb 25, 2006)
I love your shading, and the whole thing is so well finished. *kicks the teacher* :D
JoeNobody (Feb 26, 2006)
this one is very nice patience. You're right, don't listen to your art teach (about digital art), and you may have never heard it, but there's an old saying....."those who can do, those who can't teach" (no offense meant to the many great teachers out there who actually can "do")
Sweetcell (Feb 28, 2006)
Sad to say for a long while I was like your teacher, I always said computers took the heart out of art, but after graduating old school adv. art, only to find what you know obsolete because of the advent of computers, it makes one a bit bitter and stubbourne to accept it. But now I see the computer as just another tool, just another means to get my feelings across, and damn me if I don't do better stuff on it. At least with a computer if you make a mistake you can delete, try and do that on an ink drawing.

So the man is probably an old school dog who refuses to learn new tricks, too bad for him, I've seen the gorgeous work done on this and others sites, and trying these appelets I can say it's as much work as using a canvas and mediums. Maybe he should try first, then he'd have the right to say what he thinks.

And this, so beautiful and brilliant, proves that digital art can produse masterworks. The texture of her dress is amazing. It's a sad little picture though. Guesse I'm trying to say in 100 words or more is I love it.
