We've all done it before, admit it. While the teacher's explaining what's going to be on tomorrow's test, we sit and doodle. How hard can a 7th grade test be, anyways? (Now it takes pure SKILL to suck like this!) Okay, people, post up some of your doodles if you want (they don't have to be drawn in school... Just... Well... Doodles. And only doodles. None of those I-spent-hours-on-this sort of pictures.)

I'm sorry Zack, i ment the people in general on both of the subjects... I'm not very good with expressing my self... I dont usually talk unless i have to.. so i dont even know why i'm commenting on the subjects in the first place.. I was not trying to be rude, i hope i didn't come across that way. The nose is kinda odd.So you used refs for all your other pics???? I mark all the pics I used refs for. It's just much more fun to draw without refs. I use to do these really detailed pics with a ref that took for ever to do. but when people asked me to draw something out of my head it sucked. Before i started drawing out of my head I didn't draw much at all. It just wasn't fun using refs all the time. It was a big step backwards when I decided to stop drawing with refs and to start drawing out of my head. But i have never been happier, and it made my art grow in more ways than I could imagen.

Refs aren't for practice only. Lots of masterpieces also use references. They might get someone to pose for them and add their creativity into it later.

i like that he doesnt stand out from the background..i think thats why i keep coming back to look at it. to figure out exactly what and where he is within the composition of the piece. although its easy to discern once you look for a moment, its the fact that you have to pause at all that i enjoy. if that makes any sense. probably not.
