You don't have to answer this if you don't want to, but, how many people here use their mouse for drawing? (I know I do..and it's quite difficult. -_-) Or do you use another type of apparatus? I'm just curious. :)

I am planning a rather large, ambitious picture, and I want it to look very good. Some aspects, I have a good idea of how I'm going to do it, but there are some things about it that I'm just innately bad at and would like some tips on. Those things are: Shading in a room, namely a white room-- walls, floor, ceiling. How do you depict light on a flat surface without making it look monotonal, boring, or overly textured? Realistic skin shading-- How do you use single pen strokes to achieve go...

I sketched a picture almost identical to this on paper while I was at the beach, combining a small photo I saw in something at the house and by watching the surfers all week. Sigh. I want to go back.(Almost every time I loaded this to revise it I got distracted with other things, so I'm not sure exactly how long it took but I know it wasn't nearly as long as it shows)

Tablets are pretty hard till you get used to them.....I should know^^;.In fact, that's why I chose to stick with my mouse.This is even better than my first attempt :).Nice one.

Nice effect.Looks kinda like some catalogue cover.I dunno whether you'd wanna do this, but it usually makes a person much more livelier when you add reflections to the eyes.Added the reflection in her eye as per gigandas suggestion...it did liven her up a bit

Umm... I dnt hav n e questions but i hav a suggestion!!! Maybe u should try and make the 8ball a lil more round.. it looks kinda oval to me..

you're oval. jk. i have a little trouble with circles, i think my perceptions a bit off. thanks for the advice.

If necessary, on the first layer, use the circle tool on a low opacity to draw, well, a circle. Then on the other layers, just color over it. You could also smooth out the highlight, monk, depending on where it's coming from. Keep up the goodness.

I dunno, I think it's kinda cool that monk took a risk at drawing a circle free hand as opposed to using a guiding tool to draw this.But then it's just my opinion so :).I just happen to respect people who I see try to challenge themselves at freehanding a drawing which not just anyone would do.So I say nice work, monk. |

hehe, you already know i dont like the dots everywere. there good for alittle special punch but... *is drowned by the dots* HELP MEEE!!!... gomen. anyway~ i also like the fuzzy rednedd in the bottle... but because of the DOTS its hard to make out
