You should encourage her to do better, rather than being so nice about things.

it takes alot of strength to draw this, I know there are a lot of women who can't speak out because of fear or because of emotional pain
Flubbles (Jan 26, 2010)
In the end Firecracker beat him to death with a big inflatable apostrophe and buried him in the back yard...he had it coming so he did.
elly (Jan 26, 2010)
I'm thrilled when a drawing brings out comments more than just the "OMG i love it!" comments. I just posted one that may stir emotions but that's not what mine was intended for. This one, Sunny, evokes many emotions I'm sure! It's deep, and it's bright and eye grabbing to get your attention! VERY well done!
Fire, you are a strong person. First, to have survived all the physical and emotional pain you've gone thru, and second, to be able to share it! Blessings to you, my friend =)

Thanks Lori and Elly.....I'm glad that all those bad memories are all behind me now,,,,,but actually it was my daughter who suffered the most pain more so than me. When my husband would get drunk,,,,he seemed to focus all his anger on our daughter, and she was only about 12 or maybe 13 yrs old when he really beat her up badly. He had a dr jekyll and mr hyde type of personality. My daughter is all grown up now and she is a "survivor", and in spite of all the disgusting things that he did,,,,,she still loves him.....I don't understand that, but that's how she feels. He died a few years ago, and I'm certain that he is not in Heaven. And "Noooo flubadub".....I didn't hit him with a giant apostrophe.....only you could come up with something like that...."lol". But I do have a lot of good memories of my time with him.....but the bad ones overshadow the good ones. I blame it all on alcohol.....he would turn into a "mr hyde" when he'd get drunk. Anyways......talking about this just brings back a lot of bad memories that I try to block out of my mind, so I'm not gonna say any more about it....it's all in the past, and he isn't here anymore.

What tool did you use to do his fur.....it's so awesome. Did you use the air brush tool or the pen? I draw in chibi, but I never use air brush.....I only draw with the pen tool. I don't know why I do that....but that's what I've been drawing with..."lol". I don't know how to draw fur that would look as awesome as this.
miha_clau (Jan 25, 2010)
his eyes are so cute:)
TumblingUpwards (Jan 25, 2010)
I used a combination of pen and air brush, I've used air brush on most of my art I do in the digital world so its what I'm accustomed to. It gives me a soft but adjustable flow that I like and then fill in with pen for the harder crisper lines like whiskers and lashes as you can see I forgot on this one because my dog is quite active and most of the time her whiskers are broken off.

BMW, I could do a cat if you'd like but with work I don't have much time to be here, this has been interesting, working on a 400x400 screen isn't easy either.

Sorry for putting this pic in the advance board....but I couldn't "squeeze" this draw on a smaller board. This draw isn't quite finished yet.....I might change this horse into a "unicorn"......I'm gonna experiment with it , to see if I like this horse better as a horse, or as a unicorn...."lol"! :) I'm posting this as finished.....I'm not gonna try to change the horse into a unicorn....:)

I like it ..it looks nice..but as before..I think you rely too much on the texture tool..maybe you should experiment with making your own textures.
firecracker (Jan 24, 2010)
Hi "bmw"......thanks for commenting.....I'm glad you like the pic, and I do agree with you about my using the texture tool. I know I rely on it a lot......but I didn't use it very much in this draw.....I used the "scattering tool"....not the texture tool, to make those little spots on the horse....to make him look "dappled". I used the texture tool a little bit on the "trim" of the woman's dress, and a little bit on the rope that she is holding. I don't think I used texture anywhere else. I guess I don't really try to make my own textures because the texture tool is there for that purpose. That's why I don't understand why I get lots of "flack" about using this tool, when it's there for you to use...."lol"! What is the purpose of the texture tool if you're not supposed to use it??? Chibi paint doesn't have near as many texture tools like Oekaki Shi painter has. I used to have fun playing with all the different textures that Shi painter has. Anyways.....thanks "bmw" for commenting.....I do appreciate your comments and opinions and any criticism....whether it be good or bad...."lol"! I have so much to learn yet.....I don't know if I'll ever be able to feel like an artist.....I'm still just a "novice". I just deleted the last couple of draws that I was working on, and I'm about ready to delete another draw that I've been messing around with for the last few days.....I just can't get them to turn out the way I want them to.....so I don't want to "post" them. Thanks again!! :)
Flubbles (Jan 24, 2010)
I cant bring myself to delete a draw, i post pictures i dislike all the time.I just dont see the point in spending all that time on something and having nothing to show for it at the end.
firecracker (Jan 24, 2010)
Ya flubadub.....but most of the pics that you "post" are worth posting......if I had your talent and knowledge of art....I wouldn't delete any draws either. These last three draws of mine that I was working on are really not worth posting. Two of them I already deleted, and this third one I was trying to do a draw using a "ref" pic by an artist named "Mullan".....and I can't get this pic to look right.....I'm just so frustrated with working on it, and if I did post it.....you would probably say it "sucks"! "lol" :)

It's a good film, i paused the film at this point for the reference.

looks like a horribly encoded/compressed video. are you watching it on youtube? :-)

I think I remember someone else drawing from the movie and saying that it was a good one.
