I like it better upside down. haha. Ok, I used the coloring from memory of a photo of my cousin at sunset. If I had had the photo it would have been different. Most notably... my cousin is male... ah well
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Jan 18, 2004)
I think this is truly beautiful. I really like the way you incorporated the colors into her hair. When I first viewed it I thought it should be called Dawn at Sunset because it looks like morning on one side and eve. on the other.. then I saw your comment (lol) Very nice work. |

I think.I'm back. Miss me? [edit]: Ohmygod. I've just gone against my number one rule. I made the tree trunks brown, and not grey. *dies*
Loogie (Jan 18, 2004)
What is so wrong about brown treetrunks?
concannon (Jan 18, 2004)
Go outside and take a good look at a tree trunk. They're not brown, they're grey. 'Cept for redwoods, and a couple other species. But most tree trunks are grey.
Zinc (Jan 18, 2004)
No. It's brown. Dark brown. You're just color blind..
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Jan 18, 2004)
Yall are funny! :) Any one tree trunk has a multitude of colors in it, as do most things. I love the eyes on this melty looking wolf-dog thing. |

Thinking of film noir
staci (Jan 18, 2004)
i love the way you shade these draws. and so fast!
cmb (Jan 18, 2004)
I cant help it! Once the basic drawing was done I didnt want to alter it too much as it would have lost the freshness...
ambiguous.alkadette.amnesiac. (Jan 18, 2004)
An impressionist? <grin>
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Jan 18, 2004)
I really like the way this one resembles a water color painting. Im glad you didnt overwork it and ruin it! Some works are just like that. Nice to see you in color, btw. :) |

I love the "gangley" Norman "Rockwellishness" these characters have to them. Nice movement in the pic. |

A playful sight with dancing colors .
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Jan 16, 2004)
I noticed this when i posted my first one, very "abstracty". I like it. Oh yeah? What mystery? lol
cmb (Jan 16, 2004)
I like this a lot alicia, Im not here much- the boards are great but it takes a bit too much time- I do prefer the speed of The Other Place- lolnice to see you here though
Alicia (Jan 17, 2004)
Great to hear from you all ! This pic reminds me of my grandmas oil palette. It always had different blots of color on it. |

practicing.....kind of boring pic but oh well
Zappo (Jan 13, 2004)
you could make the pears exploding pears..........You can always get attention by adding contrast or complimentry colors....Just a thought, im not no scientist :)
false_truths (Jan 13, 2004)
actually, this is kind of interesting. the pears kind of seem to be more real than the background. maybe its because the rest of the pic is in blues, and then the pairs are yellowy-green. lol. cool ^_^.
RabidMalikFanGirl (Jan 13, 2004)
Well if the pears were exploding, it wouldn't be too much of a still life, ne? But I agree, the foreground and the background color are quite a contrast. :) Nice work.
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Jan 16, 2004)
Some of the most famous and interesting paintings done by the old masters are still-life. Nothing boring about this. Realism is very difficult to do and this is great work. Keep it up! |

Another Man Down......
marcello (Jan 16, 2004)
nice picture but that face really creeps me out. it looks too old for the body, and it's not clear if it's a male or female. not that that couldn't be intentional.
DeadlyBlondeArcher (edited Jan 16, 2004)
yes, Marcello, the asexual appearance is quite intentional, as is the question of age, as Cupid is usually portrayed that way. Although to "creep you out" was not my intention.
strangeoid (Jan 16, 2004)
It does look like a painting... absolutely marvelous representation of Cupid. I really love the glittering arrow.
laurael (Jan 16, 2004)
wow...love the way it 'does' look painted...just incredible. |

Having fun with watercolors and pen....
strangeoid (Dec 21, 2003)
Well, thank you, but I don't think I worked hard enough for it to be in intermediate. Plus, I only really spent about 20 minutes on it, and that's frowned upon in the more prominent 2draw circles.
T-wins49 (Dec 21, 2003)
I still think it is beautiful!! If that painting was for sale... I would by it anyday!!!!
Puffin-X-Country (Dec 21, 2003)
i luv ur pic! it shud be in Intermediate!
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Jan 16, 2004)
As do I, ....sigh...*wiggles toes in sand, sips margarita* ... this is beautiful. Wish I could transfer it to one of my walls! Love the choice of colors. Has a great "warm" feeling. |

DeadlyBlondeArcher (Jan 15, 2004)
