HAHA. okay, if she wasnt scary before...she is now. i tried some shading, and now she just looks bruised, lol. umm...guess its >>back to the drawing board<< *hehe* im gonna practice some light/dark stuff *sigh*

Okay, Dix, it's not _that_ scary. :) lol. It's really great for a beginning. With every piece you do, you'll learn and evolve. On this one, I think your choice of colors is really good, even in the skin tones. For the shading on a face, try to remember to highlight the plains and darken the receding places for shadows. Blend it with the rest of the face. And for shading in your backgrounds and with objects, to get perspective remember that colors are less vibrant the farther away they are, and things are less defined in general. Now practice some more! And if u have a tablet, USE IT! You've got talent! Love ya Dixie. :)

funny you should say that, the photo I looked at was from a ruin of an insane asylum! I wish my version looked like the photo...kind of lonely and disturbing. I'll keep practicing, I'm only a doodler and have never painted.

yeah i think its disturbing but a tad too clean. thats why a urine or blood stain might add to the eerie-ness. but i like it just like it is as well

>.< Eww, Okay, nasty images to that comment Icats, but yes, I agree. Darken the sheets, rust on the frame, and the frame is too shiny to be glum. It looks goldeny, now we are thinking of happy ponies! Not nasty stuff on the floor....

Welcome to 2draw :) As for suggestions, the highlights on the hair are nice but shading the pic in general would be a good idea. The wings should be a bit more defined, and it could use a background possibly ^^

I found that on the advanced setting I can do more editing and complete a piece. The only thing bad about it is that I can only submit the piece as advanced or intermediate, and I am very much a beginner. I also think that the animation feature is very cool. I like the first aplet better than this one because you can zoom in for details but for some reason I have always been unable to finish a piece on it. I guess I'm not efficient enough to use it yet.
